Mission Control here reporting on Day 3 of the Stangel Elementary Penny Rescue Mission.

First, a huge thank you to the Manitowoc Police Department and Officer Mike for assisting with our mission today and speaking with students about the importance of police officers in our community.

Rescue crews focused on "Saboteurs" with many now experiencing a negative total. But don't worry, there's still two days left and lots more rescuing. Continue searching for those coins and don't forget to bring them to school! Stay tuned for tomorrow's update.

Thank you to all those that have donated so far. Every penny matters!

🚒🪙 PENNY RESCUE MISSION CONTROL UPDATE! 🪙🚒

Mayday, mayday: the Cents are being rescued (and put to use for our community), and we had some real-life heroes join the mission! A huge THANK YOU to Brad and Tyler from Manitowoc Fire Department Station 2 who stopped by Stangel Elementary School to cheer on our Rescue Crews, complete with mustaches and uniforms! 🥸 👨‍🚒

Our kids were thrilled to engage with community first responders: for this, and your service - we are so grateful for everything you do for our community. 🧡

And this is just the beginning... more first responders are on their way, so stay alert and prepared Cadets! Keep collecting those Cent-izens 👀🚓🚑

To our amazing Stangle families: THANK YOU! Your generosity has our classrooms racing down the Rescue Route, and the kids are having a blast saving pennies, bills, and bragging rights (and maybe sneaking a few silver coins into a rival crew's jar 😉).

Remember, every single penny goes straight back to the Stangel community. 💛

Keep those jars filling, crews. The mission continues through Friday! 🚨

🚨 MAYDAY, STANGEL ELEMENTARY! 🚨

Somewhere between the couch cushions, the bottom of a piggy bank, and the floor of the car, thousands of pennies are lost, stranded, and waiting to be saved. Every classroom is now an official Rescue Crew, competing to save the most pennies before the mission deadline. Remember, cadets: a penny saved is a penny rescued — and every one you bring in helps fund school events, field trips, classroom supplies, and SO MUCH MORE!

The Mission starts Monday! We can’t wait to meet all the rescued Cent-izens!

Stangel Parents and Caregivers: Please consider joining us in learning what the PTO has planned for the 2026-27 school year, sharing your ideas, or seeing if there's a way to offer your talents or time.

We hope to see everyone on Monday, September 21 at 3:30pm in the Stangel school library. Feel free to head to the library right after school and meet other Stangel families and your new board members! Kids are welcome to attend (snacks and activities provided).

See you soon!
