Hey Wilson Students!

It’s been an honor and privilege to be your Family + Consumer Sciences teacher the last 3 years. I’m sad to share with you I won’t be returning to Wilson next year. I have accepted another position within a different district.

There’s lots of things I’ll miss about Wilson, but you guys, the students, is what I’ll miss most. You guys always made me laugh, even on the hardest days. I’ll miss being able to laugh with you and hear all your funny jokes. I loved all of my classes and the memories we made in room 231.

Our Family, Foods, and Friends students have been rocking the last few weeks. They got into their teams, learned about flavor profiles, and got to work planning their teams theme and display for cupcake wars!

This week, they put their plans to the test. They made their cupcakes and frosting, then put their displays together for judges.

Sixth graders made their pancake competition recipes and impressed our judges! 🥞

Game of life students tested their skills and created their grilled cheese recipes for our competition. The judges loved the variety and creativity! 🧀

Our Family, foods, and friends students started their cupcake war prep — be on the lookout for photos of their fun! 🧁

Our sewing and design students continued working on their choice projects! 🪡

Our students have been busy! It’s been an action packed couple weeks in our classroom, but it’s been fun and filled with many great memories! 😀

Our Game of Life students have been in their finance unit and had the chance to visit UnitedOne. We got a tour, counted money, and learned about the importance of saving. 💰

Our 6th graders completed their pancake competition, are learning about conflict resolution, and will begin their dip day creations, soon! 🥞

Our sewing and design students are finishing their donut project and will have a donut celebration after sharing with the class! 🍩

Our Family, Foods, and Friends students are busy in the kitchen. We’ll wrap up weeks worth of labs and head into a family/friend unit after break! 🤗

Our 8th graders got to do our own version of cupcake wars! 🧁

They worked together in teams to come up with their own theme, slogan, design, and presentation. They even found their own frosting recipes to complete their cupcake. Great work, 8th graders!! 😀
