This last year came with many difficulties and changes. As a shift in chapters continues, the time has come to part ways from childcare altogether. This means making our house and property talored to our family. This means listing the mass amount of equipment for both indoors and outdors. In the upcoming days, a list of available items will be shared with our local schools and childcares. Almost all items being sold are center quality and were not able to be used due to state enforced closure. To simpilfy and make space in our home to feel like ours, sales can assist to alleviate this internal heartbreak. My deepest apology to this community remains. -Miss Nina

UPDATE: March 1, 2023

Court was on January 23, 2023. License was abruptly suspended on Sept 2. We still have received no news from the administrative judge regarding the insane allegations from 2 state divisions, one being local. Due to lack of trust for the LARA licensing consultant for our area, and our local CPS division, the decision remains to stay closed.

INFO: To restart the process of licensing again, the costs for inspections and time consumption is not affordable. As a family, we reserve the right to have our own personal time outside of providing care for families. No threat or harm was ever conducted towards any child. The wrongful allegations and lies on reports say otherwise. Lies were permitted as evidence for me to defend as my own attorney. This is all now in the hands of a Lansing administrative law judge. I did fight hard for my community as a businesswoman who went up against the state with no funding for an attorney.

Again, I apologize to the community for this very unfortunate outcome. We had no way of knowing that doing right for our own child would affect licensing as no harm was ever done to anyone. When I sought assistance for our own child [with special need diagnoses], there was no intention to affect families served. I deeply, wholeheartedly, apologize to all those affected and those who supported me. I hope a breakthrough comes for others considering to serve childcare needs in our community.

Mountainview Tots was established in November 2016 as a babysitting venture. It grew to a licensed home in January 2020 relocating to Michigan in October 2020. Mountainview Tots reopened in Michigan in October 2021 after a lengthy licensing process. Expansion began in March 2022 with development for a program designated to ages 3 and under. The overall goal has always been to prepare local children to prepare for early education years.

Our owner, Nina Klagstad, staff and family members will miss the friends we met in our 5+ years of operations!

It is with a heavy heart that I need to do work with other children outside of my home. I deeply apologize to all families and my home community.

Mountainview Tots is closing due to licensing invasion of personal time and matters Ms Nina will be seeking positions working in the community with our younger children.
