Year 23 of Protective Services Academy at Lancaster County Career and Tech. That’s a lot of history and while that is the foundation we continue to build on, our focus is on the 43 new students who are rostered to join us today. It is our task to find their strengths, encourage, and mold them into contributing members of their communities. To instill knowledge and skills coupled with their passion for service to those around them. To watch them grow is truly amazing. To those who graduated from this program, come along side and be positive role models. Let’s build each other up. Block by block we will become better. Cheers to the class of 26-27.

Congratulations Cadet Wright 25-26 grad!

Iron Ridge Fire Rescue would like to congratulate FF Genevieve Wright on several outstanding accomplishments over the past few weeks. Genevieve has earned her National Registry EMT certification, achieved her Pro Board Firefighter I certification, and recently made her first interior structural fire attack as an interior firefighter.

These milestones represent countless hours of training, dedication, and hard work. We are proud of everything you’ve accomplished and look forward to watching you continue to grow in the fire service and EMS.

Congratulations, Genevieve, and thank you for your commitment to serving our community!

Congratulations former Cadet Stoltzfus.

Congratulations to Police Officer First Class Thomas “Ryan” Stoltzfus for being named the Ocean City Officer of the Year by the Knights of Columbus Ocean City Council 9053. He was nominated by his supervisors and peers for his unwavering positivity, professionalism, and commitment to those around him.

From the moment he walks through the door each day with a simple “Happy Wednesday, Sir,” Ryan sets the tone for everyone around him. His attitude is contagious, his work ethic is unmatched, and his willingness to help others never goes unnoticed.

Whether mentoring newer officers, supporting Public Safety Officers, or simply leading by example, Ryan consistently demonstrates humility, respect, and dedication to this department and the Town of Ocean City.

What stood out to the community selection board was not only his professionalism, but also his personality. They described him as upbeat, genuine, and someone who makes people smile — qualities that are not only appreciated in law enforcement, but needed.

Ryan’s commitment to serving others, combined with his ability to uplift those around him, makes him exceptionally deserving of this recognition.

Please join me in congratulating PFC Stoltzfus, the Knights of Columbus Officer of the Year.
