Broken Canon Cosplay Workshop

Broken Canon Cosplay Workshop Broken Canon Cosplay WORKSHOP is a makerspace and community of makers at Manhattan Town Center.

I offer STEAM Clubs for kids in addition to Open Workshop times for Kids and Adults to work on their own sewing, 3D printing, prop-making, and costumes.

Homeschool and After-School clubs are all live now at:
brokencanoncosplay.com/register

Sessions begin the week of April 6th, with the exception of 4:00pm Young Adventurers and 4:00 Junior Maker clubs, those are already happening now.

This is a major expansion of my school-age clubs. Sign up now for these new sessions before they fill up and so that I can begin planning for new members!

For the Homeschool families in town, I have set up 1:30-3:00 slots for all these clubs. I’d ask that you take those sessions first to leave space for the public school kids to take 4pm slots, but I also would never turn you away or be irritated if that time just doesn’t work for your family!

Join us at our shop space for upcoming classes and workshops to learn about making cosplay and props.  We will host classes and workshops about pattern making, basic sewing, 3D printing and finishing props, sculpting, prop painting, and creating duct tape dummies.

Hello All,

I'm back with a draft of my weekly schedule for Homeschool and After-School STEAM oriented clubs with a pop-culture twist. These are not live at my website yet, but I'd be happy to hear from anyone who wants to pre-register as I test feasibility and level of interest!

For the Homeschool families in town, I have set up 1:30-3:00 slots for all these clubs. I'd ask that you take those sessions first to leave space for the public school kids to take 4pm slots, but I also would never turn you away or be irritated if that time just doesn't work for your family!

Let me know in the comments or by private message if you'd like to be added to the pre-registration list. I'm hoping to get these going the first or second week of April.

Gathering some interest on an possible adjustment to my after-school programming...

I already do Young Adventurers on Fridays from 4:00-5:30-ish to teach 8-to-12-year-olds how to play Dungeons & Dragons, but 'secretly' teach them reading, quick math, and critical thinking skills while also encouraging creative improvisation and role-playing as their characters tackle all kinds exciting adventures.

Would any parents be interested in similar STEAM focused after-school clubs using other Pop Culture things that I also happen to love?

Minecraft (a cooperative server?) and Pokémon (both cards and video games) both seem the best options for this sort of thing... any other media you think would work well?

What are your thoughts or ideas?
