Congratulations Randy Pushee for being selected as the Outstanding Career and Technical Educator Award honoree by the Board of Directors of SkillsUSA!
Mr. Pushee is highly involved in technical classes, drafting, and is one of the teachers who trains our SkillsUSA team for competition. He helps mold our new generation of technical students while establishing a level of respect and confidence in using multiple tools/programs. It is evident that your contributions make a meaningful impact on his students and their blossoming futures.

Diplomas are ready for pickup starting Monday June 1, 2026, from 7:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday in the Front Office of MHS.
Diplomas can be picked up by the graduate, the graduate's parent, or a designated person. If you want a designated person to pick up your diploma, please call 785-587-2100 beforehand to notify our office.

Manhattan High School will begin operating on limited hours starting the week of May 26, 2026.
Front offices will be open from 7:30 a.m.-3:30p.m. every weekday, excluding holidays.

Students in grades 9-11 for 2025-2026 will have report cards mailed out the week of June 1st. Diplomas and transcript pickup will be announced via ParentSquare and a separate social media post. Thank you and have a great summer!

Congratulations Brady Durtschi!
Every year, KMAN presents the kstate CREDIT UNION & Orthopaedic & Sports Medicine Center/KMAN Student Athlete of the Year award to provide a scholarship to a graduating, senior student-athlete who exemplifies excellence in and out of the athletic environment.
Student athletes from Manhattan, Wamego, Riley County, Rock Creek, Wabaunsee and Blue Valley are all considered for this award.
Congratulations to the 2026 K-State Credit Union & Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Center/KMAN “Student-Athlete of the Year”…from Manhattan High School…Brady Durtschi!
This year’s recipient is a seven-time letterwinner across two sports. Earning the title of team captain for his senior year of football. A sport where Durtschi helped lead the Indians to a state championship appearance in 2024 and state title win in 2025. Known as a defensive Swiss Army Knife, Durtschi recorded over 100 tackles in his career and three interceptions his senior year. Earning all-league honors in 2025. In track, Durtschi is a three-time league champion, two-time regional champion and two-time all-state selection in the triple jump.
Off the field, Durtschi is very active in the community. He prepares and serves dinner on Monday nights at Common Table. Serving 50-80 people experiencing food insecurity. Durschi also helps kids with special needs participate in sports through the Special Olympics. Plus, he has a leadership role in his church youth group where he plans local and regional activities. Soon, Durschi will be serving a two-year mission trip for his church in Albania.
Durtschi also excels in the classroom. He scored in the 99th percentile on the ACT with a 35. Plus, earned a Seal of Biliteracy in German and was the Optimist Club Student of the Month. Durtschi will graduate with a 4.6 weighted GPA and has been accepted to attend BYU on an academic scholarship.

FREE SPORTS PHYSICALS!!
MHS Parents & Students,
We wanted to make you aware of a free sports physical program that is offered through the KSU PA Program and the Manhattan Free Clinic. These physicals are open to all local students, regardless of insurance status or household income, and students do not need to be patients of the Manhattan Free Clinic to participate.
Appointments are REQUIRED, and families will need to call the clinic directly to reserve a spot. Historically, these appointments fill very quickly as summer progresses, so please call 785-323-4351 to schedule your appointment today!
Appointments will be available for Monday, July 20; July 27, August 3, and August 10 from 4:00-6:30 p.m.

Congratulations to the MHS Employees of the Month for the month of May.
Traci Small is a leader in the English Department and always finds a way to inspire the next generation or writers while shaping them for future college level courses. She always puts a smile on her students and colleagues faces.
Rey Flemmer is a ray of sunshine. Whenever you see them, it is hard not to feel happy. Rey readily works with students with high-needs, and you can see they joy they bring to their work.
Congratulations to both of you and Happy Summer!!!!

How about coming to support your Girls Soccer team on Tuesday, May 19th, at 6 p.m.(Bishop Stadium) and Boys Baseball on Wednesday, May 20th at 4 p.m.(Steel and Pipe fields at CICO Park). The first 30 students to each game will be free courtesy of Manhattan High Booster Club.

BASEBALL BANQUET TONIGHT - RESCHEDULED!

Due to the extreme and severe weather forecast for this afternoon and evening, we have decided to postpone the baseball banquet that was scheduled for tonight, May 18, 2026. The banquet is rescheduled for Thursday, May 21st at 6pm in the MHS Commons area.
