What's the one thing you brought home from a NACADA conference that you still use?

The Annual Conference runs for four days. What you get out of it will last a lot longer. Here are a few things advisors can expect to carry home from Oklahoma City, beyond the schedule and the swag bag.

One month from today, advisors from around the world will be together in Oklahoma City.

What makes the NACADA Annual Conference worth the trip? It's about how much of it you can use when you get back to your campus. Sessions are led by practicing advisors and researchers who understand the caseloads, the red tape, and the post-COVID realities of advising college students.

Over 300 sessions, with topics ranging from first-year student advising to team collaboration to AI in academic advising practice β€” and everything in between. Session materials stay open to you for 45 days afterward.

October 4–7 in Oklahoma City. Registration is open now: https://nacada.ksu.edu/Events/Annual-Conference?utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=post&utm_campaign=annual-conference-2026&utm_content=one-month-out

A great conference includes time to recharge, not just time in a convention center.

Oklahoma City offers plenty of ways to unwind after a full day of sessions:

- A quiet walk
- A rooftop view
- Live music or comedy
- A canal ride at golden hour
- A little local history with a walking tour

Moving between it all is simple too, since your badge gets you a free ride on the OKC Streetcar all week. However you choose to spend your evenings during the Annual Conference, the connections are sure to keep going long after the sessions end.

Which vibe matches your plan for conference nights? Tell us in the comments.

Advisors have a lot to say about their work with students: Why it matters. Why doing this work alongside a professional community makes it better.

We heard from last year's Annual Conference attendees about the ideas they were bringing back to campus, and how connecting with other advisors supported them throughout the year.

It's not too late to join us for the 2026 NACADA Annual Conference, October 4–7 in Oklahoma City.

What's one thing your professional community has given you this year?

Conference days are long, but getting a good post-session meal doesn’t have to be an afterthought.

Here's a short list of places to explore during the 2026 NACADA Annual Conference, October 4-7, whether you want a sit-down dinner or a quick bite.

- Elemental Coffee: the local roaster worth a short walk from the convention center
- S&B's Burger Joint: home of the OKC-style onion-smashed burger
- Delmar Gardens: an open-air food truck park near the historic Farmers Market, easy on the per-diem budget
- Mickey Mantle's Steakhouse: a Bricktown institution known for prime and wagyu steaks, with a streetcar stop that shares its name
- POPS 66: requires a short road trip, but this Route 66 landmark comes with a 66-foot soda bottle photo opp and 500 beverage flavors.
