On Tuesday 29th of October, 1-2pm, we are holding a short event with Professor Megan Brown, an expert on Modern European History and European Integration. Professor Brown currently teaches at Swarthmore College, Philadelphia, and will be travelling to New York City to see you all!
If you would like to use part of your lunch break efficiently to learn how European identity (leading to the EU) actually emerged and ask questions about the EU, you are welcome to join us!

Hi there! The European Institute started last year the "Thinking Europe Now" seminar series, which is open to faculty and graduate students. They are planning three sessions of the seminar this fall, and are happy to invite CEUSA members who might be interested.
The sessions of the seminar this fall will be co-chaired by Nadia Urbinati and Carlo Invernizzi Accetti. They will take place in Room 411 at Fayerweather Hall.

- a conference by Wolfgang Streeck at the LSE on March 15, 2018 "Taking back control? Brexit and the Future of Europe"

The territorial expansion of Italian mafias through Europe: mechanism and paths.
Talk by Luca Storti, Associate Professor of Economic Sociology, University of Torino, Research Fellow, Ralph Bunche Institute, The Graduate Center, CUNY.
Luca Storti will analyze the form that the mafia’s presence takes in areas outside those in which it originated, by comparing several European countries (i.e. Germany, Spain, Switzerland).
