Summary Statement

The teaching staff of Kingdom Kids Childcare Center is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the assigned classroom, which includes maintaining a safe and engaging environment that stimulates all aspects of the child’s growth and development.

Qualifications

A commitment to early childhood education in a Christian environment
18 years or older

Responsibilities

(include but not be limited to)

Training

*complete initial required trainings

*complete 16 hours of required yearly training before the end of center license year (August 1st to July 31st)

*Attend quarterly staff meetings

Planning

*The assistant teachers will follow a weekly lesson plan according to KDHE regulation K.A.R 28-4-427 c 1-2

*plan and execute basic care activities and daily routines that are in line with KDHE regulations

Record Keeping

*The Teachers will clock in/out daily for hours of work. It is the responsibility of the employee to perform this task to ensure proper pay at the end of the pay cycle.

*Any Teachers working over 6 hours will be offered a 30-minute lunch break. This lunch is not part of the daily work schedule and it is not a paid lunch

*Complete incident/accident reports as needed

Classrooms/Facility Management

*The Teachers will prepare the classroom for the day upon arrival.

*The Teachers will follow all the rules and regulations of the State KDHE Handbook for Child Care Centers as well as the “Kingdom Kids Child Care Center Employee Handbook.”

*The Teachers will follow all the policies and practices of the Kingdom Kids Child Care Center including emergency procedures, behavior management and disciplinary actions.

*The Teachers will tend to the care and supervision of the assigned classroom. This includes having knowledge of the maximum child to teacher ratio as provided in the KDHE Handbook for Child Care Centers and the Kingdom Kids license.

*The Teachers will adhere to all the health and safety practices as listed in the KDHE Handbook for Child Care Centers

*The Teachers will clean the classroom at the end of each day. This includes sanitizing toys that are used in the classroom that the Teacher is responsible for as well as storing the toys in the proper storage receptacle.

Children and Families

*Develop a positive relationship with each child and promote the development of self-esteem and self-regulation

*Establish relationships with each child’s family. Share information about the child’s daily life- daily sheets, Seesaw app, verbal, notes in cubbies when directed by lead teacher/director.

*The Teachers will adhere to all confidentiality policies. It is inappropriate to talk to others about children or families. This includes any teachers of the Center. If a teacher has problems or concerns, he or she must report those issues to the Program Director or the Assistant Program Director. It is the responsibility of the Director to take necessary action on any issue pertaining to a child or a family.

*The Teachers will follow all rules and regulations as prescribed for each age group. This includes toilet breaks, toilet training, diapering practices, meals, snacks, playground, naps and all activities listed on the Daily Activities chart.

*No Teacher will ever leave any child unattended for any reason or for any length of time. It is critical to make sure that all children are safe at all times. If an emergency arises, the teacher must seek the help of the director or qualified staff, to resolve the issue.
