Last week, Det 270 gathered for a memorial PT in remembrance of September 11, 2001, and in honor of the nearly 3,000 people who lost their lives that day.

As we remember the lives lost, we also recognize the courage and sacrifice of the first responders, service members, and ordinary Americans who answered the call in the days and years that followed. We will remember. 🇺🇸

Spring 2026 Commissioning Ceremony

Last Friday, Detachment 270 proudly commissioned 9 new Second Lieutenants into the United States Air Force. Surrounded by family, friends, cadre, and fellow cadets, the ceremony celebrated years of hard work, commitment, and leadership that led to this moment.

We were honored to welcome Col Gary Clark as our guest speaker, whose lifelong service and strong connection to Detachment 270 made his message especially meaningful for our newest officers. We also recognized 2d Lt O’Rourke as this year’s Distinguished Graduate for outstanding performance throughout their AFROTC career.

Congratulations to our newest lieutenants as they begin the next chapter of service to our nation. Detachment 270 is proud of you all. 🇺🇸✈️

LLAB 14 - Change of Command

Detachment 270 officially welcomed Cadet Leach as the new Cadet Wing Commander for Fall 2026 during this semester’s Change of Command ceremony. The ceremony marked the transition of leadership within the cadet wing and the official passing of responsibility for the semester ahead.

We would also like to thank Cadet Jahn and Cadet McLaurin for their leadership, dedication, and commitment to the wing throughout this past semester. Their impact on the detachment and the example they set for cadets will carry forward long after their time in these positions.

We are excited to see where Cadet Leach and Cadet DeDonder lead the wing this upcoming semester and look forward to the continued growth and success of Detachment 270. Congratulations, and we hope all of our cadets have a safe and great summer! 🇺🇸✈️
