The KAWSE office at K-State works to increase the participation, retention and advancement of students in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math. The office serves as home of the ADVANCE, EXCITE!, SUCCEED and GROW programs.

Are you ready to think green and build smart? The KAWSE office is excited to invite all students in 6th through 8th grade to this Fall's GROW Workshop on November 14!

Through faculty-led sessions, this workshop will encourage students to think more about STEM and its impact on sustainability.

Experience a day in the life of a K-State student at an EXCITE Shadow Day! Join a K-State undergraduate as they go about their normal day on campus: attend classes/labs, tour campus, eat lunch at the K-State Student Union, and get answers to your questions about what it's like to be in college. The goal of these events is to encourage students' continued interest in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) fields. All students in grades 9-12 are welcome to participate.
These are the Fall 2026 dates:

October 28- registration closes October 2

There is a $45 registration fee, which includes lunch and all materials needed to participate in this event. Scholarships are available to cover this cost.

✨ Last weekend, middle school students had the opportunity to Invent the Future at our Spring GROW Workshop!

Students rotated through four hands‑on sessions—Build an M*F, Rivers in the Landscape, Build & ZOOM, and Microscopic Worlds in a Droplet of Water—exploring science in fun and creative ways. Between learning, activities, and lunch with friends, it was a great day of discovery. We can’t wait to see everyone at our next GROW Workshop!
