Join us in Lawrence, KS, for "FLIP IT: Transforming Challenging Behavior" with Mikaela Haendler!

During this 2-hour training, learn the four supportive steps to help children identify their feelings, learn healthy self-control, and reduce challenging behavior. Gain knowledge about FLIP IT through discussions and practice FLIP IT through group activities. This course is designed with permission of the Devereux Center for Resilient Children and in partnership with FLIP IT!ยฎ author Rachel Wagner-Sperry, national early childhood mental health specialist.

The physical environment plays a powerful role in shaping how children and families experience a child care setting. In this training, participants will explore three ways their environment can foster a sense of welcome and value for children and their families. They will also examine how elements such as layout, furniture arrangement, and color scheme influence childrenโ€™s behavior and interactions. Through reflection and discussion, participants will learn how intentional environmental choices can support a positive atmosphere. This course is appropriate for all early care and education professionals in center-based child care, family child care, and afterschool program settings.
