This summer, our Human Development and Family Science students experienced learning through a new cultural lens in Copenhagen.

They explored the Scandinavian Model, learned from faculty at the Københavns Universitet - University of Copenhagen, and experienced firsthand how another part of the world approaches work, family, and well-being.

It is amazing what a change in perspective can teach you.

This summer, Cali Augustine has been leading student trips through New York City and Washington, D.C. as a paid Chief Experience Officer intern with World Classrooms.

As she helps students create unforgettable memories, she is also building the leadership and communication skills that will shape her future career in occupational therapy.

We are proud to celebrate Cali and the impact she is already making through experiences like this. 💜

This summer, students in K-State's online Master of Science in Gerontology traveled to Ikaria, Greece through KSU Education Abroad, one of the world's five recognized Blue Zones, to experience healthy aging beyond the classroom.

Have you ever thought about what it really takes to bring the World Cup to life? ⚽

This year's tournament expanded to 48 teams, spanning three countries and 16 host cities, and pulling that off successfully takes so much more than athletic skill. It requires thoughtful diplomacy, seamless cross-border coordination, and strong communication at every level. Host cities are even developing new human rights frameworks to ensure the tournament leaves behind a positive, lasting legacy for their communities.

None of this happens without the kind of mediation and conflict resolution work that often goes unseen. At Kansas State University's School of Human Sciences, our Conflict Resolution certificate prepares students with hands-on mediation, negotiation, and peacebuilding skills, the same tools that help make global moments like this possible.

Our Pre-Health students had an incredible experience in Costa Rica.

During their time in San José, they toured healthcare facilities, learned alongside local nursing practitioners, and volunteered with a mobile health unit serving the community. They also visited the Red Cross, a tuberculosis sanatorium, and palliative care clinics, giving them the opportunity to see healthcare from a different perspective while learning from professionals in the field.

Outside of their clinical experiences, they explored Costa Rica's culture, enjoyed the local food, and took in the incredible views from the top of Irazú Volcano.

These experiences allow students to grow both inside and outside the classroom, and we could not be prouder of the way they embraced every opportunity along the way! 👏

It does not get much better than a perfect Kansas weather outside and a room full of students excited to grow into the professionals they are becoming. Fall rush, we see you coming!
