Heyo

Someday my prince(ss) will come :)
A big part of my journey on the piano at the outset was playing and singing Disney songs from a book we had that I knew. Playing around and sightreading songs you're familiar with can help you get more comfortable with the piano and enjoy hearing what you can play!
I love to guide students in the right direction, but also let them explore music they enjoy, and find an effective way to incorporate it into practice and lessons :)

Someone You Loved - Lewis Capaldi

Beautiful beautiful lyrics. I don't usually go for lyrics, but very powerful I think :)
So piano tidbit from this song:
It's practically the same four bars the entire song (excepting the bridge), so it's a bit challenging to make musically interesting. This is where the power of rubato and dynamics comes in. Playing with the tempo to accentuate either the vocals or the chord changes, as well as bringing out the strong parts in volume and carefully dropping it on softer phrases, is what I'd suggest for something like this.
Many popular pop songs will have very simple, very repetitive sheet music, and I challenge you to make it challenging and emotional regardless :)

Hey! Goodnight all :) This is a beautiful beautiful song Michael Bublé sang (unsure if he wrote it). I really enjoy playing anything in B major. It's fun to use every single black key haha 😅
Also there are some nice nice diminished chords in here, in the main verse. ALSO I love the super simple key change. I've used the same thing in improvisation before :)
Happy practicing!

Very famous. Pretty classic. In my training I'm studying all sorts of classical music from all periods, and I think it's a great way to focus on emotion and styling in playing. There's a reason these songs have remained so relevant for so long. Enjoy, and tell me your thoughts below 😊👍

If you're "in the mood" for some fun jazz improv training, message me :) I love trying new things with old pieces, and finding little ways to play with rhythm and chords. I play this little ditty pretty often 👌

Listening to soft music while going to sleep is nice :) it's interesting to play with different sounds and see how that effects the ambience of the song/which styles are effective. I chose this EP because it had a dreamy Spacey softness to it, a really warm tone.
