Don’t make it about 6-pack abs… make it about being healthy, active, and strengthening your muscles.
I used to work till I burned out … regularly. Among peers this seemed like a badge of honor. But it is not.
AND - this is a bad example to set for ambitious students.
Working hard doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice sleep, diet, exercise, rest, and play.
As I joyfully start the latter half of my thirties, I'm happier, healthier, and harder-working than ever before. That's only thanks to maintaining my physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual health.
My health is not something I take for granted anymore and I urge you to take your health seriously. Moving your body helps clear your mind, increases blood flow, calms your nervous system, etc.
Self-care isn't just a "feel-good," "just for fun," or a "pamper yourself" once in a while kind of thing. Our professional and personal lives are driven by the same body and brain. Lets help each other take better care of them.
