Choosing the right questions to ask your major advisor as a pre-health student isn’t one-size-fits-all. What you need to know depends heavily on your academic major and the type of professional programs you’re aiming for, whether that’s medical school, dental school, PA programs, or another health pathway.

Because of these differences, it’s important to start having intentional conversations early. Your advising appointments are the perfect place to ask thoughtful questions, clarify expectations, and make sure you’re building a strong, realistic plan.
