The Mira Costa High School College and Career Center looks forward to working with you as you begin your journey of college selection and admission. Our goal is to make this process manageable and understandable for you and your family. We seek to provide both students and parents with the best information on college choices and admission requirements to aid in the application process. The College and Career Counselors work closely with students to encourage them to discover their interests, explore possibilities, and take ownership of their college application process. Ultimately, we seek to support students in their effort to identify and enroll in the college that is the best fit for them. We provide comprehensive college and career counseling services for all Mira Costa High School students in grades 9-12, free of cost. Our curriculum is comprised of grade appropriate content delivered systemically through individual counseling, small group activities, classroom guidance and workshops. All MCHS students and families are provided access to college counseling presentations and workshops, and are encouraged to use the office as a complimentary resource throughout the college search, application, and selection process. MCHS students attend diverse and reputable institutions both in the United States and abroad, ranging from small private liberal arts colleges to large public universities and our comprehensive program is designed to support students through that journey to post-secondary success. We are so excited to announce that starting in the Fall of 2016, the CCC will be open during the evenings! In addition to Mrs. Caryn Ramirez, Ms. Shalyn Tharayil, and Mrs. Christine Schiraldi, the CCC now has an additional full-time College & Career Counselor - Mrs. Elizabeth Rieken, who will be available to students and parents until 7:00 pm!
