This isnโ€™t the way I wanted to start 2026, but here we are. ๐Ÿ˜ž Due to an ankle injury that ended up needing an unexpected surgery, Iโ€™m forced to be off my feet to heal and am unable to remain open.

Iโ€™m devastated and will miss everyone SO MUCH. Iโ€™m hoping to be open by summer and looking forward to a big re-opening party! ๐Ÿฅณ

TUITION REMINDER & 2026 SCHEDULING UPDATE

Just a reminder that per handbook, tuition is due as usual during provider time off. Provider time off is already accounted for through your one tuition free week and your additional sick or vacation days, as outlined in the handbook.

I am currently working on the 2026 handbook and calendar and will have both ready by January 1st. If there is a particular month youโ€™d prefer to use your tuition free week, please message me so I can try to schedule accordingly. (Perhaps around a birthday or a week youโ€™d like a little extra money in your pocket.)

REMINDER: Your childโ€™s additional sick or vacation days are separate from the tuition free week and may be used throughout the year as needed when your child is absent.

*For families with multiple children enrolled, tuition free time applies per child, not per family.

This reminder is being shared now so tuition can be handled on time and I donโ€™t have to chase payments into tonight/tomorrow. As stated in the handbook, late fees begin at 3:01 for payments not received by the usual due time.

On Thursday, December 18th, Iโ€™m hosting a little Christmas party for the kids. Previous kiddos are welcomed! ๐ŸŽ„

If anyone wants to bring a food item or treat, please comment on this post so we can avoid duplicates. Anything is welcome. Just some simple Ideas- Finger sandwiches, fruit or veggie tray, charcuterie board, cupcake, cake, cookies, chips, etc.

Iโ€™d also like to do a fun kid gift exchange. ๐Ÿง‘โ€๐ŸŽ„ Iโ€™ll assign each child another child to get a small gift for, $5 or under. Think Five Below vibes. If youโ€™d rather me grab the gift, you can just send the $5 and Iโ€™ll get it!

Participation isnโ€™t mandatory, please donโ€™t feel pressured! Any help is truly appreciated, but nobody will go without. The party is meant to be easy and full of fun for the kids! ๐Ÿฅณ

When toddlers play with blocks, theyโ€™re doing far more than stacking and knocking them down. Theyโ€™re building the foundation for critical thinking, problem-solving, and patience.

Through block play, children are:
โ€ข Strengthening ๐Ÿ๐ข๐ง๐ž-๐ฆ๐จ๐ญ๐จ๐ซ ๐ฌ๐ค๐ข๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ฌ ๐š๐ง๐ ๐ก๐š๐ง๐-๐ž๐ฒ๐ž ๐œ๐จ๐จ๐ซ๐๐ข๐ง๐š๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง

Every tower that tumbles teaches resilience. Every rebuild strengthens confidence. This is the kind of play that prepares little minds for a lifetime of learning. โœจ

This morning began like any other beautiul day! We had outdoor play, sunshine, laughterโ€ฆ. until one curious child (Knox)๐Ÿ˜… discovered how to turn the hose on. Within seconds, the ground turned to mud, and their fun began.

Instead of stopping the play, I leaned in. I added bowls, scoops, and our water table, and let the children explore freely. Soon, shaving cream joined the adventure, and a few bunch of happy, messy kids turned the yard into a sensory wonderland.

Was it extra work? Every outfit was soaked, kids were covered in grass and mud- shoes needed scrubbing, and clothes needed washing. But it was worth every second. ๐Ÿฅบ

Through messy play, children are:
โ€ข Strengthening ๐—ณ๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ฒ ๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ฑ ๐—ด๐—ฟ๐—ผ๐˜€๐˜€ ๐—บ๐—ผ๐˜๐—ผ๐—ฟ ๐˜€๐—ธ๐—ถ๐—น๐—น๐˜€ as they scoop, pour, and dig
โ€ข Exploring ๐˜€๐—ฐ๐—ถ๐—ฒ๐—ป๐˜๐—ถ๐—ณ๐—ถ๐—ฐ ๐—ฐ๐—ผ๐—ป๐—ฐ๐—ฒ๐—ฝ๐˜๐˜€ like cause and effect, absorption, and texture

I try not to stop them when things might get messy. I try to embrace it, because itโ€™s where the magic and the real learning happens. (And doing all my parents a favor so they donโ€™t have to get messy at home ๐Ÿ˜…)

The mud will wash off, but the memories will last a lifetime!

When curiosity meets permission, learning ignites. ๐Ÿ”ฅ

Here, the kids explored a simple mix of baking soda and vinegar (a magic potion). What looked like a messy science experiment was, in truth, a full-body learning experience.

Through this sensory exploration, children were:
โ€ข ๐„๐ง๐ ๐š๐ ๐ข๐ง๐  ๐ข๐ง ๐ฌ๐œ๐ข๐ž๐ง๐ญ๐ข๐Ÿ๐ข๐œ ๐ข๐ง๐ช๐ฎ๐ข๐ซ๐ฒ making predictions, testing cause and effect, and observing reactions
โ€ข ๐’๐ญ๐ซ๐ž๐ง๐ ๐ญ๐ก๐ž๐ง๐ข๐ง๐  ๐Ÿ๐ข๐ง๐ž ๐ฆ๐จ๐ญ๐จ๐ซ ๐œ๐จ๐ง๐ญ๐ซ๐จ๐ฅ as they squeezed, poured, and mixed
โ€ข ๐๐ฎ๐ข๐ฅ๐๐ข๐ง๐  ๐ฅ๐š๐ง๐ ๐ฎ๐š๐ ๐ž ๐š๐ง๐ ๐œ๐จ๐ ๐ง๐ข๐ญ๐ข๐ฏ๐ž ๐ฌ๐ค๐ข๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ฌ as they described what they saw, heard, and felt
โ€ข ๐ƒ๐ž๐ฏ๐ž๐ฅ๐จ๐ฉ๐ข๐ง๐  ๐ฉ๐ž๐ซ๐ฌ๐ข๐ฌ๐ญ๐ž๐ง๐œ๐ž ๐š๐ง๐ ๐œ๐จ๐ง๐Ÿ๐ข๐๐ž๐ง๐œ๐ž through open-ended experimentation
โ€ข ๐„๐ฑ๐ฉ๐ž๐ซ๐ข๐ž๐ง๐œ๐ข๐ง๐  ๐ฃ๐จ๐ฒ๐Ÿ๐ฎ๐ฅ ๐ฌ๐ž๐ง๐ฌ๐จ๐ซ๐ฒ ๐ฉ๐ฅ๐š๐ฒ, which supports regulation, focus, and curiosity

When children are trusted to explore freely (even when it gets messy) they begin to think like scientists, collaborate like teammates, and discover that learning isnโ€™t something that happens to them, but something they create. ๐Ÿง‘โ€๐Ÿ”ฌ

Today, one child found a pair of sticks and turned the BBQ pit into a drum set. ๐Ÿฅ No adult direction. No script. Just curiosity, rhythm, and joy.

Through moments like this, children are exploring sound, rhythm, and pattern recognition.

Heโ€™s learning to:
โ€ข ๐—จ๐˜€๐—ฒ ๐—ถ๐—บ๐—ฎ๐—ด๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ฎ๐˜๐—ถ๐—ผ๐—ป ๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ฑ ๐˜€๐˜†๐—บ๐—ฏ๐—ผ๐—น๐—ถ๐—ฐ ๐˜๐—ต๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ธ๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ด because transforming everyday objects into instruments builds abstract reasoning and creativity.
while heโ€™s noticing sound differences (metal vs. stick taps), which supports pre-literacy and pattern recognition.
โ€ข ๐—ฆ๐˜๐—ฟ๐—ฒ๐—ป๐—ด๐˜๐—ต๐—ฒ๐—ป ๐—ฐ๐—ผ๐—ผ๐—ฟ๐—ฑ๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ฎ๐˜๐—ถ๐—ผ๐—ป ๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ฑ ๐—บ๐—ผ๐˜๐—ผ๐—ฟ ๐—ฝ๐—น๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ป๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ด because drumming requires timing, bilateral coordination, and spatial awareness.
โ€ข ๐„๐ฑ๐ฉ๐ซ๐ž๐ฌ๐ฌ ๐ž๐ฆ๐จ๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง ๐š๐ง๐ ๐›๐ฎ๐ข๐ฅ๐ ๐ฌ๐ž๐ฅ๐Ÿ-๐œ๐จ๐ง๐Ÿ๐ข๐๐ž๐ง๐œ๐ž since creative sound play lets children regulate emotions, experiment with volume and control, and feel capable.
โ€ข ๐๐ซ๐š๐œ๐ญ๐ข๐œ๐ž ๐š๐ฎ๐ญ๐จ๐ง๐จ๐ฆ๐ฒ ๐š๐ง๐ ๐ข๐ง๐ข๐ญ๐ข๐š๐ญ๐ข๐ฏ๐ž because child-led play teaches decision-making and independence, essential for intrinsic motivation.

Many parents worry their toddlers arenโ€™t learning enough if they arenโ€™t sitting for ๐ฌ๐ญ๐ซ๐ฎ๐œ๐ญ๐ฎ๐ซ๐ž๐ ๐ฅ๐ž๐ฌ๐ฌ๐จ๐ง๐ฌ. ๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿซ The truth is, the most meaningful learning at this age doesnโ€™t come from flashcards- it comes from ๐Ÿ๐ซ๐ž๐ž๐๐จ๐ฆ. When children are purposely given an environment that invites ๐œ๐ฎ๐ซ๐ข๐จ๐ฌ๐ข๐ญ๐ฒ, ๐ฆ๐จ๐ฏ๐ž๐ฆ๐ž๐ง๐ญ, ๐š๐ง๐ ๐ข๐ฆ๐š๐ ๐ข๐ง๐š๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง, they naturally develop the very skills that later make ๐ซ๐ž๐š๐๐ข๐ง๐ , ๐œ๐จ๐ฎ๐ง๐ญ๐ข๐ง๐ , ๐š๐ง๐ ๐ซ๐ž๐š๐ฌ๐จ๐ง๐ข๐ง๐  possible.

At two and three years old, play is the curriculum. Drumming on a BBQ pit, mixing dirt into โ€œcakes,โ€ or watching baking soda bubble- these moments grow
. When we honor play as purposeful work, we build not just smart children, but whole, joyful ones. ๐Ÿ˜Š
