2024 State SkillsUSA competition day is complete! Always exciting to watch my kids work hard in competitions. We will know tomorrow how the 7 individual welders did along with the two fabrication teams! Stay tuned 🚨

The Mandan High School Welding Program competed March 20th at the Northern Plains American Welding Society competition in Fargo, ND. Mandan welding students competed in SMAW (stick) and GMAW (wire) event. We had 10 students compete with 4 students placing in total! 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in the SMAW event and a 3rd place in GMAW.

The sign the seniors presented to Nicks family, he was in this years senior class and passed away this spring unexpectedly. I could always count on Nick to get his work done, clean up and be respectful. The hardest part in my short 8 years of teaching is when I have lost a student, it’s never easy and they are never forgotten.

2023 Lyness welding competition! Chantz Delzer took 2nd in GMAW, Christian Hutslar took 3rd in GMAW, John Morrell took 3rd in SMAW and Scott Piper took 2nd in oxy-fuel cutting.
