Hello Mancos! I know it’s late notice this year but we have two more camps open to kiddos! End of June we have a k-5th grade camp for kids and end of July we have a 6-8th grade camp for teens! We are going to play outside, make new friends and create wonderful works of art! Cannot wait to see you and your kiddos there!

Have you ever wondered how your teachers know the things that they know… Teachers have to be taught things too!

Today I am exceptionally grateful to a local ceramic artist, Don McKenna, for teaching me his pro-tips for recycling clay. It took us about 40 minutes of hands-on learning… And as a K-12 teacher, I am relieved to say that he has made my life infinitely easier. Thank you!!!

Hello beautiful people!

I, , need some help getting the art room ready for school to start on Monday, the 14th! Eeek!

If you have availability from 1 to 4 PM on Wednesday, August 9, your support would be greatly appreciated.

Please come prepared to cut paper, organize shelves, organize materials, paint, wedge clay, hang posters, or make trips to the dumpster. Did I mention organizing? 😜

Fourth grade student artists are learning how to draw and paint from a photo. We identified the shapes in the pictures, (that’s why they have lines all over them.) Then we drew the dogs on our watercolor paper and are painting them in with lots and lots of layers of watercolor!

These students are doing outstanding work! I am so impressed by their skills with watercolor! It is not an easy medium to use!

Mancos High School is starting a black & white photography class! We need your old film cameras! Preferably Nikon or Canon, but all 35mm film cameras are welcome!
