First, please accept my apologies for the neglect of this BIG idea I had. I was excited and gung-ho to get it started then several major things happened, main one being the hire of a new Superintendent for Clay County Public Schools. Add to that becoming a mom to a teen-ager at the ripe old age of 59 and it seems as if I've been in the front seat of a roller-coaster with my hands up. I try to follow procedure and protocol so I recently met with Mr. William Sexton, Superintendent of CCPS and one of the topics I asked him about was the continuation / reformation of the Clay County High School Alumni Association. He offered to help in any way and to support this endeavor as much as possible. Sooooo, it's me again. I have less than 400 CCHS graduates who have sent me their contact info: address, email, year of graduation, and any notes on what you're currently doing. FYI: I love to brag about the accomplishments and very cool things so many of our alumni have done and are doing. You can message me via this site, you can message me via my FB, you can email me at [email protected] or at [email protected] (Mr. Sexton so graciously agreed to let me keep an email account.) If you can send info in for parents or spouses or partners or anyone you could help out. I promise that this info will NOT be sold or given to any entity for ANY reason. I'm just trying to create a database. Again, totes sorry for the 2.5 year hiatus. Now before you get started enjoying your summer, get cyberspace sparking, CCHS Grad Peeps!! I had a few people ask for a photo of the new school since they never attended any of the other CCHS locations so thanks to photographer extraordinaire - Les Nicholson - we now have an awesome photo of the "new" school that is nearly 24 years old now. I'm so very sad to report that activity related to CCHSAA has slowed to a stop. I am happy to report that I have contact info for over 300 grads and that is a great start but considering the fact that there are literally thousands of graduates, there should be many many more! Please take a minute and just shoot me a PM with your name (maiden, too), mailing address, email address, year you graduated and what you're doing. Do it for your family, too!!

Sad to report that although we've reached thousands, the enthusiasm seems to have dwindled. PLEASE continue to help get the word out and submit contact info for others in your family who aren't FB fans. I've received contact info from nearly 300 people but again, that's such a small number in the grand scheme of things. Thanks to everyone for whatever part you've played!!

News Update: Over 1,100 who "LIKE" the CCHSAA page; Contact info received from 250+ alums. Contact info from first grad who is living abroad!! One very nice grad submitted her contact info PLUS the info from every person in her family!! She said "they don't do FB." Thrilled to see another email from her with contact info for her boss, his wife, and other co-worker! Thanks, Ebby! You're the bomb-diggity, sister!! I love to get mail and with the cost of stamps being nearly equal to a gallon of gas my mail stash continues to dwindle. Anyway, got to 2 info forms in the mail! Thanks, Amy & Heather! I'm beginning to get a few emails at both CC and EKU addresses. HOWEVER you want to send it is perfectly fine with me. Send me relatives, spouses, children, ex-husbands or ex-wives, anyone! I think I may carry a notepad with me to ask all the good peeps I randomly run into for their info! Again, I promise this is not a scam, not asking for a penny, have all the best intentions! Teachers, two down and three to go!! Have a nice evening, CCHSAA!! Wherever you are, you deserve it.

Whooo! Hooo! We've passed the 1000 mark but when you stop to think in terms of total number of graduates since CCHS was a school, this 1000 would account for a mere 5 years of graduates and nowhere near 65+ years!! I've typed in contact info for over 200 now. So many people in the world are not on FB so I'm asking all of you who are to take care of your peeps - your siblings, your children, your spouses, and especially your parents!! We only have two on the list from the 50's so if you can help, please do. If you would blast your email contact list with the info that would help as well. Thanks so much to those of you who've had so many kind words to say! It's been the most fun hearing from former students I haven't been in contact with in a very long time...and that's one of the main reasons I'm trying to do this. All you teachers out there, one day down and four to go!! Merry Christmas, FB Peeps!!

Well, the weekend ends in two hours and we're about 100 away from 1000 who "LIKE" the CCHSAA page. Surely there are some of you out there who just haven't gotten around to taking care of business. I should have been much clearer in the first post but honestly there was so much that could be said and by attaching the form with all the background and official info included that would eliminate a lot of it. If any of you have ANY photos you'd like to share, feel free as it is as much YOUR page as it is anyone elses. I'm still typing contact info after this recent deluge of messages but we're at nearly 200 with alumni info, nearly 1000 "LIKE" on the page, and have 15 states represented!! I know so many more of you are out there so PLEASE let me add you to the TIGER NATION alumni group!! Again, Merry Christmas to all . . .

OK, I guess it's time to clarify a few important things: First, I apologize for NOT telling you who I am right from the start. Another classic case of what happens when I assume. Anyway, I am JoAnne Gregory - Class of '73 - and I'm retired after working 33 years for Clay County Board of Education. Second, I am merely gathering the contact info and am on a personal mission to see to the formation of a Clay County High School Alumni Association. When this is done, bigger things will happen specifically the election or creation of a Board of Directors. Let me be clear that there is no hidden agenda or ulterior motive in this operation. Third, this is not a scam. At this point there are NO DUES and that topic will be addressed once there is a BoD in place. Fourth: I will not ever under any circumstances share, sell, lend, or give any contact info I am given in this process to any other person/entity for whatever reason. Last, PLEASE provide your name - including maiden name - and the year you graduated if you don't want to provide any additional info. WHY do I need mailing addresses? To create a database mailing list. Why addresses and not just emails? Because everyone doesn't seem to have email. I have provided not one but 3 email addresses for your convenience as there is not need whatsoever to post your info publicly on social media. You can always PM me personally or from the CCHSAA page. To the 130+ people who have already provided the info as requested, THANK YOU SO MUCH!! Keep spreading the word and keep sending me your contact info. Merry Christmas, CCHSAA!!

OK, Alumni Peeps, here's the latest update from Project Gather Info: There are 600+ likes to this page but I've only received contact info from 105 people. You do NOT have to post any info on FB, the explanation letter / form have additional email addresses and other ways to submit info. We want everyone to like the page but need you to please follow up with your contact info. So far 12 states represented.... Keep spreading the word and we may have 1000 before the weekend is over!!! Speaking of weekends, have a great one!!

Please remember that If you are posting contact info on that page, PLEASE include the specific things requested on the FORM that was attached: Name & maiden name if applicable, YEAR GRADUATED, mailing address and email address. Keep sharing with your friends, please! Maybe 1000 wasn't such a big dream after all.........
