🍎Teacher AppreciationSpotlight: Tammy Jones 🩺

👩‍🏫 Years Teaching: 24 years at the ATC, plus 5 years teaching adult nurse aide classes prior to joining the ATC.

Pathway: Health Science

For Mrs. Jones, the most rewarding part of teaching is watching students grow in confidence, discover their strengths, and go on to pursue careers in healthcare.

After many years in nursing, she chose education as a way to share her knowledge and experience with the next generation. Her goal has always been to prepare students not only with healthcare skills, but also with compassion, professionalism, and confidence.

One of the greatest lessons her students have taught her is that every student is different and every student has a story. Sometimes the most important thing a teacher can do is believe in them, encourage them, and give them room to grow. ❤️

We’re grateful for the experience, heart, and dedication Mrs. Jones brings to the Health Science program each day. Thank you for helping prepare the next generation of healthcare professionals! 🩺✨

Our student commons area is dressed in pink for Breast Cancer Awareness Month! 💗

A big thank-you to these students for decorating the windows with ribbons, hearts, butterflies and messages of hope. Their work is a beautiful reminder to support those affected by breast cancer and to keep hope shining.

⭐ Teacher Spotlight: Bobby Cecil ⭐

Bobby Cecil has spent 17 years teaching welding and helping students build skills they can carry into any occupation.

He first discovered how much he enjoyed teaching while helping others learn to weld in the factory. “It’s just something I always wanted to do,” he says.

His advice to students is simple and powerful: Never give up on a student. They can change. Over the years, Bobby has seen students he once worried about become some of the very best he’s taught.

Our Clay County ATC Welding students recently completed a custom plasma-cut fire pit for the Shriners Children’s charity auction in Lexington, Kentucky!

We’re proud of the hard work, craftsmanship, and attention to detail these students put into creating something that will help support such an important cause. It’s pretty special when students can use the skills they’re learning in the shop to make a difference beyond the classroom. ❤️

Great job to our Welding students and instructor for representing Clay County ATC so well! 👏🔥

Our freshman Health Science students had a great day at Somerset Community College participating in Project Jumpstart!

Students enjoyed hands-on career exploration while learning more about dual-credit opportunities and future career pathways. They had a blast and learned so much!
