Paramapara School of Music is the only school in Connecticut that offers a Diploma in music from Sarbabharatiya Sangeet O Sanskriti Parishad. Courses are offered on Hindustani Classical, Rabindrasangeet, Sugam Sangeet, Folk song, and a few more. Our Folk Band Parampara is performing all over the US and enthralling the audience with the rustic rhythms of genres like Baul, Jhumur, Bhaiali, and so on.

Want to share a special moment of Parampara School of Music with all of you.
My student Simran Basu completed her Sangeet Visharad Diploma in Rabindra Sangeet in 2024 and her Hindustani Classical Sangeet Visharad Diploma in 2025. With these accomplishments, Simran became the first student in the United States to earn the Sangeet Visharad Diploma under the curriculum of Sarbabharatiya Sangeet-O-Sanskriti Parishad (SSSP)—a milestone that fills the entire Parampara family with immense pride.
Even after completing both courses, she continued her lessons with me to prepare for her graduation ceremony. Just last week, we celebrated her musical graduation with a solo concert.
Amidst her regular schoolwork and many other activities, Simran continued learning with full dedication and sincerity. It was truly wonderful to see the fulfillment of her musical journey on the stage. She confidently presented 14 songs from different genres of Indian music in front of a group of audience. I enjoyed every moment of her performance.
With this, our 11-year journey together has come to a beautiful milestone. It is hard to believe that after walking this path together for so many years, today she has completed her learning at Parampara. To stay committed to a subject like Indian music for 11 years is not easy, especially in a land far from our roots, where there is very little support or encouragement from the surroundings, school, or friends. This journey is only possible with a student's own love for music and the constant encouragement of the family. Thank you and love to every member of the Basu family for being such an important part of this beautiful journey.

I sincerely hope that after finishing college, music will once again find its place in her life. My doors will always remain open for you, Simran. Love and best wishes for the next chapter of your life.
