Manchester Valley Performing Arts Boosters

Manchester Valley Performing Arts Boosters MVHS Performing Arts Boosters, Connecting the Boosters, Parents, School and Community to promote MVHS Performing Arts.

At MVHS the PAB's biggest fundraising effort is running the Indoor Concession Stand during winter sports season, during shows and concerts in the auditorium. This enables us to help support the performing arts programs and the students who love singing, acting, playing instruments and marching band. Be sure to check the updates on this page, find an activity you can give a few hours toward and join the fun!

And just like that, the week comes to an end and this magnificent cast and crew say their final good-bye to "The Price" as they journey back to Manchester.

Their adventure has been McNutt[hing] short of spectacular! They started their trip last Sunday with a visit to Buc-ee's and soon after settling in their dorm rooms they were greeted with the midwest tornado sirens. Welcome to Indiana!

Indiana University at Bloomington gave them a little taste of what college life can be - independence and freedom, the dining hall, dorm rooms, shared bathrooms, long campus walks, Door Dash, and lots of students from all over the country.

The International Thespian Festival offered them a multitude of opportunities. They went to various workshops with one hosted by the Savannah Bananas. They got to meet Don Zolidis, the play writer for their show "The Price" and many other one acts that Maverick Theater performs. Our students were able to see some amazing shows on the main stage performed by other high schoolers as well as meet and hear from the shows' original writers and creators - "Urinetown", "Suffs", "Kimberly Akimbo", "The Addams Family", "Dear Evan Hansen".

On Thursday, they took to the stage and showcased their talent performing "The Price" for a national audience. They were met with a standing ovation and tears! They did what they came to do and represented Maverick Theater well!!! 💙

Today, they are homeward bound and we couldn't be more proud and happy with all that they experienced from a short little, one act play. It took them all the way to Indiana and gave them so many memories that they are sure to look back fondly on this special trip.

THANK YOU to Theater Director Bobbi Vinson and parents Tammy Huntington and Melissa Parker for being their leader and chaperones for the week! 🩷🩷🩷

These students earned this opportunity, but many of you helped fund it. Thank you for being part of their great adventure! They enjoyed the ride!!!

Who has 42 thumbs and killed it on stage and off to receive a standing ovation? Troupe 7825!!! Bravo! 🎉

Cue Alice Cooper at 11:35AM!

We can’t end the year without some thank you’s to some very special people to the PAB.

A tremendous THANK YOU to:

💙 Our PAB volunteers! All we do can’t happen without you!! You sustain us throughout the year and keep us going. A special thank you to Debra Brown and Rachel Mansir for always stepping up! Thank you to Kari Yacovissi for continuing to contribute even after your son graduated!

💙 The performing arts teachers: Castellano, Vinson, & Warner! Not a law firm but legally awesome. We love you!!!

💙 Mrs. Bechtel-Garber for advising the Embrace Movement dance club. You are the best!

💙 Our business sponsors and donors who choose us to share their hard earned money!

💙 Mrs. Thomen for your assistance and being our administration liaison! Your feedback and advice is appreciated!!

💙 Ms. Michele for sharing your time with us as a PAB officer, a performing arts parent, and school Stage Manager! 😘

💙 The dynamic duo of Ms. Sosnoski and Ms. Cashen in the front office who open the front door for us with a smile, help us track down the custodians, and assist with our planning and requests.

💙 Mr. Koontz for taking on the Athletic Director role and fielding our facility requests and helping us with our concessions and sports questions!

💙 DJ Becker and the custodial staff: Gregg, Robert, Tyler, Diane, Anya, Kristal, Joe, Stephen, and Julio! You are truly the unsung heroes of the building. Thank you for always supporting us and meeting all our requests with willingness, a smile, and ZERO complaints!!! We appreciate all of you!

It was a successful year for the Boosters. We met our financial goals and were able to do some important things with the money we made.

If I didn’t have the fantastic and exceptional team of officers to work with me on the PAB Board, the year would be much harder and not nearly as fun. THANK YOU to Tammy Huntington, Kim Lo Forte, Jackie Riddle, and Lauren Staples for all that you do and give to make the students and their performing arts programs thrive!!! More importantly, thanks for the laughs and the good times! 🩷

Signing off until the next post….

A recap of the year - Part 2!

(If some of the graduation photos are of the same student, it’s because her mother is the PAB Treasurer and gives me access to her event photos that include other performing arts students. 😉)
