irectors whose function is to determine the policies of the program. Our staff consists of professional early childhood educators and a director who coordinate the program with the help of well-qualified assistants. Play-oriented program:
Sonshine's program is play-oriented - a developmentally appropriate practice in high quality early childhood programs. Developmentally appropriate means learning experiences and teaching styles responsive to the age and individual needs and strengths of each child, with respect for every family and culture. What is sometimes referred to as mere "play" actually involves the integration of many new insights and concepts. While at play, children create themes, explore and establish environments, solve problems, and develop shared understandings. Recognizing Potential:
