🎙️ VOCAL WARM-UP 10 of 10: Sing an Easy Song

Finish with something you know well and love. Keep it relaxed. This is not a performance run. You are connecting your warm-up work to actual singing.

The goal is to arrive at your song, rehearsal, or audition already in your voice — not still searching for it.

Great singers don't just sing. They prepare.

🎙️ VOCAL WARM-UP 09 of 10: Articulation Drills

A great voice means nothing if your words cannot be understood.

Practice tongue twisters slowly, then gradually increase your speed.

"Unique New York."
"Red leather, yellow leather."
"Toy boat."

I have worked with singers who had beautiful tone and lost roles because they could not be understood from the back of the house. Clear diction wins roles.

🎙️ VOCAL WARM-UP 08 of 10: Octave Jumps

Sing from a low note to the same note one octave higher on "Ah" or "Oh." Land on the top note lightly, without reaching or pushing.

This trains agility and helps singers who get stuck in one part of their range. Keep the top note as relaxed as the bottom. If you tense up going high, the jump is too wide for now. Start smaller.

Sing short, detached notes on "Ha" or "Hey" up and down a 5-note scale.

Staccato engages your diaphragm and trains the onset of your tone. A clean staccato means a clean start to every note you sing. If your attacks feel fuzzy or late, this is the fix.

🎙️ VOCAL WARM-UP 06 of 10: Five-Note Scales

Sing a simple 5-note scale up and back down on "Ah," "Eh," "Ee," "Oh," or "Oo." Move up by half steps.

Focus on clear tone, accurate pitch, smooth transitions, and relaxed breathing. This is where you start building control and consistency. Most of my students spend more time here than anywhere else.

🎙️ VOCAL WARM-UP 05 of 10: Vocal Sirens

Glide from your lowest comfortable note to your highest and back down on "ng," "oo," or "ee."

Sirens connect your chest voice and head voice and improve flexibility across your full range. The key word is comfortable. Do not push your top notes. If it feels like a strain, you have gone too far.
