Central High Association of Music Parents & Supporters

Central High Association of Music Parents & Supporters Our meetings are held the second Wednesday of each month at 6:30 pm in the Music Department at Central High School. We try to hold these meetings to one hour.

The Central High Association of Music Parents is a nonprofit organization whose purpose is to support the activities of the Central High School Music Department. Our members provide support during concerts, football games, parades, and other functions, and provide additional financial support for music activities through a variety of fundraising events sponsored during the school year. Any changes to time or location are announced by email as well as our page. Parents and guardians of Music Department students at Central High School and any interested adults are invited to attend any or all meetings and help out in any way possible. To get involved, or just to stay updated, send an email to [email protected] with your contact information, and we’ll get you in the loop. Come share your individual talents and help the Music Department and your students thrive!

🎶 HELP WANTED: No musical talent required! 😂

CHAMPS needs a Secretary!

Can you:
📝 Attend one meeting a month?
📝 Take meeting minutes?
📝 Help keep the rest of us organized?

Congratulations…you may be exactly who we’re looking for! 😂

🚨 But here’s the important part: This isn’t just another volunteer opening. Secretary is a critical Executive Board position that CHAMPS must have filled in order to continue operating and renew our 501(c) nonprofit status.

We really need someone from our CHAMPS community to step forward and help us keep this organization going for our students and music programs. 💚🖤🤍

💻 Helping create documents such as concert programs, signage, and more

You don’t need to be a professional secretary or have any special experience—just be willing to help and be part of the team! ❤️

If you’ve ever thought about getting more involved with CHAMPS and supporting Central’s music programs, this is a great opportunity to jump in.

Come to tonight’s meeting and learn more! We’d love to have you. 🎵💚

We were saddened to hear of the passing of Dolly Parton. 💕🎶

Everyone knows her incredible musical talent and philanthropy, but many may not know that Dolly was a percussionist and majorette in her Sevier County High School Band in Sevierville, Tennessee.

Even fewer know that for years, she quietly supported band programs by purchasing uniforms and instruments—not only for her alma mater, but for underfunded music programs in schools with fewer resources. She did it anonymously for many years, never seeking recognition.

As we wrap up the final day of band camp for our own students, it feels especially meaningful to remember someone who understood the power of music and the impact it can have on young people.

Dolly was certainly an amazing musician, but she was loved because she was an even better person. Her kindness, generosity, and love of music will continue to inspire generations of musicians.

Her music may live on through recordings, but her legacy will live on through the countless students she helped put an instrument in the hands of. ❤️🎶
