Today, September 18th, the Church celebrates the Feast of St. Joseph of Cupertino, the Patron Saint of students, test-takers, and those facing academic challenges.

As we continue our Year of Hope at St. Benedict Academy, may St. Joseph of Cupertino remind us to place our hope in God, especially when something feels difficult.

Join us October 8 for an evening of inspiring stories, practical resources, fellowship, and conversation as we strengthen disability ministry and celebrate the growing movement of Inclusive Catholic Education in New Hampshire.

🥂 5:30 PM | Welcome Reception
Connect with families, educators, parish and ministry leaders, and others who share a passion for creating communities where every person belongs. Explore resources and practical tools for strengthening inclusion in our schools, parishes, and communities.

🍽️ 6:30 PM | Dinner & Program
Enjoy a buffet dinner followed by a featured presentation from Mark Bradford, Word on Fire Institute Fellow, father of Thomas, who has Down syndrome, and editor of the award-winning book Indispensable: A Catholic Guide to Welcoming Persons with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities.

🎤 Panel Discussion
Hear stories and perspectives from parents, educators, ministry leaders, and special guests about the joys, possibilities, and importance of belonging.

🔥 Ignite the Mission
We’ll close the evening looking ahead to what each of us can do to help build schools, parishes, and communities where the gifts of every person are welcomed and valued.

The evening will be hosted by Deacon Geoff Ashman of St. Lawrence Parish and Christopher Duffley, disability advocate and co-founder of FIRE.

Your gentle presence, your prayers, the faith and wisdom you shared everytime you visit us at school.

“When there’s the light of Christ, there is no darkness.” Our students gathered together for Mass this morning, and Father Anselm shared this beautiful reminder with them. What a powerful message for our students to carry with them; not only throughout their school day, but wherever they go. 💙💛

Ignite the Mission won’t feature just one voice. It will bring together a community.

Following Mark Bradford’s keynote, FIRE Foundation of New Hampshire will host a panel conversation exploring what meaningful inclusion looks like in our schools, families, ministries, and communities, and the work already underway to make it a reality.

Joining the conversation:

• Mrs. Tanya Paiva, Principal, St. Benedict Academy
• Mrs. Kathy Prieto, parent and founder of PS 139 Wonderfully Made Ministries
• Dr. Kelly Dunn, Schoolhouse Services
• Additional special guests

Each will bring a different perspective, but a shared conviction: persons with disabilities have gifts to offer and deserve communities where they can fully belong, participate, and contribute.

This is at the heart of FIRE NH’s mission: building communities where every person and every gift belongs.

Today our students had their first Saint House Party for the 2026/2027 school year! They kicked it off by learning about our 26/27 school wide theme: A Year of Hope. 💛

Mrs. Paiva challenged our students to memorize this years Bible verse, Hebrews 6:19, by Friday, September 25th. ⚓️ “This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, a hope both sure and steadfast”.

Then it was time to break into our Saint Houses! ❤️💛💚💙 Students worked together to decorate their Saint House signs and wrote what they hope for most this school year. It was a wonderful afternoon of teamwork, community, and reflecting on the hope that anchors us in Christ.

And what better way to end our first Saint House Party than with popsicles from Mrs. Paiva.
