Last night, our Poultry Judging youth had an incredible hands-on learning opportunity thanks to Brandon and Gavin with Hillsboro Food Company!

They graciously welcomed our group and demonstrated how a chicken carcass is broken down into the different cuts our youth are responsible for identifying during the Poultry Judging Contest. Being able to see each part firsthand, learn exactly where it comes from on the carcass, and compare similar cuts gave our youth a much better understanding of what they have been studying in practice.

Experiences like this bring learning to life and give our youth a chance to connect what they have studied with a real-world example. They had a great time, asked plenty of questions, and hopefully walked away feeling even more prepared for the upcoming Regional Poultry Judging Contest!

A huge thank you to Brandon and Gavin at Hillsboro Food Company for taking the time to work with our youth and provide such a valuable learning experience. We truly appreciate your support of our 4-H members!

Make plans to join us next week for daily "lunch & learn" sessions! You bring the lunch, and we'll bring the program. Each session is designed to be under an hour. Enjoy your lunch while gaining knowledge and skills that will help you live your best life!

Each session will be in the community room of the CCAP except for the Thursday session. On Thursday, the session on Fraud Prevention will be held at the Extension office.

What a great week for our youth to spend time at UT Martin for Tennessee 4-H Roundup! Last night was the Vol State Ceremony where we had three initiates participate. Caroline Teal, Ella Parr, and Sarah Cartwright were initiated and we are so proud of each of them for all of their work with the 4-H Program! As always we want to give a huge thank you to Mrs. Jamie for always making sure our youth have a great time throughout the week and being such a huge help during the week! We hope everyone goes home and gets some well deserved rest!
