Today is Thankful Thursday as we continue celebrating National 4-H Week!

Here at Coffee County 4-H, we have SO much to be thankful for! From our supportive school systems and incredible 4-H members to our dedicated volunteers, community partners, and everyone who helps make our program possible, we are truly blessed!

Most importantly, we are thankful for YOU!

Whether you share one of our posts, bring your child to a 4-H meeting or event, volunteer your time, or simply cheer on our members, YOU make a difference! Coffee County 4-H would not be the program it is today without the tremendous support of our community. We are incredibly grateful to live and work in a county that believes in investing in our youth and helping them grow into tomorrow’s leaders!

Now, we want to hear from YOU!

What are you thankful for when you think about 4-H? Maybe it’s a volunteer who made a difference in your life, a friendship that started through 4-H, a favorite program, or a special memory you’ll never forget.

Don’t forget, Horse Bowl and Hippology practices start next week! Hope to see you there 💚🍀

Join Coffee County 4-H for Horse Bowl & Hippology practices and learn all about the world of horses! You do NOT have to own a horse or have previous horse experience to participate. Youth in 4th–12th grades are welcome!

What is Horse Bowl?
Horse Bowl is a fast-paced, quiz-bowl style competition where 4-Hers test their knowledge of horses, including breeds, anatomy, health, nutrition, equipment, management, and more.

What is Hippology?
Hippology is a hands-on horse knowledge competition where 4-Hers learn to identify horse breeds, parts of the horse, equipment, feeds, tools, and other horse-related items while building their overall horse knowledge.

We have some extra special learning opportunities planned! A farrier will be joining us to teach a couple of lessons, and we will also take a farm visit to see horses in action! 🐴
No horses will be ridden during this program.

Get ready for some sweet fun with our Holiday Baking Series!

Join us this fall and winter for three hands-on baking classes where we’ll make, decorate, and enjoy some tasty treats!
Each class is $10 and spots are limited to 7 youth per class.

October 29 – Halloween Mini Cupcake Cakes
November 19 – Mini Pies
December 17 – Gingerbread Cookies & Decorating

All classes are 5:00–6:30 PM at the UT Extension Office in Manchester and are open to youth in grades 4th–12th.

A huge thank you to Coffee County Mayor, Dennis Hunt, for his proclamation of national 4-H week in Coffee County! We hope you all will enjoy his video and join us as we celebrate National 4-H Week!

Next week is National 4-H Week, and we would love for our entire community to celebrate with us!

We have something special planned for each day of the week, and there are plenty of ways for current 4-H members, alumni, families, volunteers, and community supporters to get involved.

Sunday – National 4-H Week Proclamation
Be on the lookout for a special video from Coffee County Mayor Dennis Hunt as he officially proclaims National 4-H Week in Coffee County!

Monday – 4-H Spirit Day
Show your 4-H pride! Wear your 4-H green and share a picture with us. You can post it yourself or send it to us, and we would be happy to share it on your behalf.

Tuesday – Giving Tuesday
Help give the gift of 4-H camp to deserving youth in Coffee County! Donations will have the opportunity to be matched, making your support go even further. Be on the lookout Tuesday morning for a special link to donate.

Wednesday – What Does 4-H Mean to You?
We want to hear your 4-H story! Send us a short video or write-up sharing what 4-H means to you or how 4-H has impacted your life.

Thursday – Thankful Thursday
Take a moment to thank someone who has made a difference in your 4-H journey. Whether it was an agent, volunteer, leader, parent, teacher, or fellow 4-H member, let them know the impact they made!

Friday – Flashback Friday
It’s time to dig through those old photos and break out those Congress sweaters! Share a picture or memory from your time as a 4-H member and help us celebrate the generations of Coffee County 4-H.

Saturday – Volunteer Appreciation Day
Coffee County 4-H would not be possible without the time, dedication, and support of our incredible volunteers. Saturday is all about celebrating and thanking the people who help make our programs possible!

We hope you’ll join us throughout the week as we celebrate National 4-H Week and everything that makes Coffee County 4-H special.
