A day delayed due to the cold, we celebrated Earth Day today, potting plants in the sunshine! ๐
The kids eagerly helped to beautify the school grounds, not to mention, they loved getting muddy hands!
Happy Earth Day! ๐ ๐

๐ Today, our Mount community witnessed a true masterclass in dedication!
Mr. Gorcyca is the Great-Great Uncle of two of our wonderful students, Maxiene and McKenna, and he has been collecting aluminum pull tabs for over 25 years!
Today, he dropped off a whopping 53 plastic shopping bags filled to the max with shiny aluminum pull tabs! These tabs will go directly toward our โPull Tabs for Shrinersโ year-round collection, helping provide essential transportation and medical care for children in need.
We want to give a massive, heartfelt THANK YOU to the Seigle Family, and especially to Mr. Ed Gorcyca for showing us that small acts of kindness, when sustained over time, can make a mountain of difference. We are so blessed to have you as part of our school family!

We are so grateful to our local firefighters for everything they do to keep our community safe, especially over the holidays.
Our students wanted to show a small token of appreciation with some fresh baked breads.
Thank you to the MFD for sharing this image! Our students loved making these, and it means so much to know they will help fill your Thanksgiving table this season.
Wishing all of our first responders a safe and happy Thanksgiving. We are thankful for you today and every day! ๐ฆโจ
On Tuesday, students at Mount Saint Maryโs Academy baked breads for the Manchester Fire Department. On Wednesday, Rescue 1 picked up the bread, and they will be distributed to the departmentโs ten fire stations.

๐ At The Mount, we want our children to feel their voice matters.
Inspired by Election Day, we also host our very own SCHOOL VOTE, encouraging all students and staff to vote on the theme for the annual school dance.
By instilling the importance of voting and encouraging children to practice the habits of participation and civic responsibility, our students are more likely to engage and vote later in life.
Voting for a school dance may seem fun and light, but itโs incredibly meaningful, showing students THEY can help shape their school experience:
๐ณ๏ธ PLAN & EXECUTE - Make flyers, ballots, voting booths and boxes, pass out stickers
๐ณ๏ธ LOOK - Look at the options thoughtfully and decide what is most appealing to you!
๐ณ๏ธ DISCUSS - Encourage others to vote, talk about the options, and โcampaignโ for your favorite!
๐ณ๏ธ RESPECT - Respect the outcome even if itโs not what you picked!
๐ณ๏ธ DESIGN - Be part of the process and most of all, HAVE FUN!
This year's "candidates" are:
๐ญ Candy Land
๐ Tropical Lulu
โ๏ธ Let it Snow
โญ WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE?

Mercy Day is celebrated annually on September 24th.
It commemorates the anniversary of Catherine McAuley opening the first House of Mercy in Dublin, Ireland, in 1827.
It is a significant feast day for the Sisters of Mercy and a day to honor their founder's legacy of compassion, hospitality, and dedication to serving the poor, sick, and uneducated. Schools and organizations within the Mercy community use this day to reflect on these values and continue McAuley's mission of service.
Here at "The Mount" we embrace this philosophy and continue to serve our community throughout the year with our "Monthly Mount Mercy" initiative by collecting donations each month for local nonprofit groups.
Please see our schedule for the 25-26 school year for specific requests.
Donations may be dropped off in the main office.
With gratitude,
Mount Saint Mary Academy teachers and staff and families.

Did you know that Mount St. Mary Academy was founded by The Sisters of Mercy?
If you're looking for some summer reading, our school bookstore will be carrying three new books about our founder.
Catherine McAuley is the inspiring foundress of the Sisters of Mercy. Born in Ireland in 1778, Catherine devoted her life to serving the poor, sick, and uneducated. In 1831, she established the Sisters of Mercy, committed to compassionate service and education, especially for women and children. Her legacy of faith, mercy, and justice continues to shape communities around the world today.
Mount St. Mary Academy proudly carries on her mission. Rooted in the values of compassion, service, and education, our school nurtures young hearts and minds, encouraging students to lead with kindness and stand up for justice.
Just as Catherine opened doors for those in need, we strive each day to walk in her footsteps, forming a new generation of thoughtful, faith-filled leaders.
If you would like to pre-order, please email Lisa at [email protected] to place your order.
