Hi everyone, my name is Caroline! Today I’m going to be taking you around Cat colonies. Cat colonies is part of the community engaged learning course, and not only does it help you get better immersed in Tuscania but you can also see all the cute cats walking around. The first picture is my walk to the cat colony near the park, which holds food and water for all the different cats. The next pictures are the cats that I saw today!

Hey Everyone, my name is Conor and today I am going to be showing you the many opportunities Tuscania has to offer that helps to manage anxiety and mental health.

Slide 1: Being in the heart of the region of Lazio, Tuscania is known for its natural beauty. Tuscania has many running trails and this is the view from the trail that I walk everyday. Some good music and these views helps me manage my stress and anxiety. Every time I walk this path, without fail, I am amazed by how beautiful it is.
Slide 2: Tuscania in the months of April and May can be very hot. Surrounding yourself with good friends and eating healthy foods can promote good mental health. In Tuscania there is always something to do with your friends even if it’s just tanning outside and making authentic Italian food.
Slide 3: Every other Wednesday our wonderful host school Lorenzo De’ Medici host cooking classes that are always a good time. We get to make food with all natural ingredients. This class is always a good way to make new friends and to have fun throughout the week. Some good food and good laughs always can get you out of a funk.
Slide 4: Here in Tuscania there are hundreds of cats. Some of the most friendliest cats I have ever seen live here in Tuscania. Walking to class or to get a cappuccino they will come up to you and rub against you. These furry friends always help cheer me up in times of need.
Slide 5: The weekly Passaggi trips is a great way of managing good mental health. During these weekly trips as a group we get to travel around Italy and see beautiful historical sites. This is a good way to manage mental health because they almost serve as an outlet. With good music, food, people, and Matteo who is the absolute best the vibes are positive and up lifting.

One of the biggest differences between studying abroad in Tuscania versus anywhere else is community engaged learning! A unique program to Saint Anselm, CEL allows students to interact with their community by providing acts of service. Here in Tuscania, almost all students are involved, regardless if they are taking the one credit course! Our activities include: Language exchange, beautify Tuscania, cat colonies, and presentations at the local schools!

Hello everyone, my name is Sarah-Cate and today I will talk about the wonderful cafes here in Tuscania. Need somewhere to go for breakfast? Before class? After class? A midday break? You’re in luck because around almost every corner here you will find a delicious cafe with some of the best cappuccinos and pastries. A popular go to is a cappuccino paired with a sweet cornetto (an Italian version of a croissant) before noon, and an espresso paired with a prosciutto and cheese sandwich in the afternoon! Want to switch up the usual cornetto? Thankfully almost all cafes have many different fillings for them; from nutella to hazelnut or pistachio, there’s always something new to try. In these cafes you will likely see many locals, friends on a study break, and your professor having their midday espresso; it is great for socialization and quick (or hour long) pick me up. Cafes can be used to chat with friends, study for an exam, and a place to practice your Italian. As part of Italian culture, I have come to really love my daily walk to the cafe with friends. Shout out to Cafe del Duomo, the cafe right next to school and a popular favorite! Un cappuccino e un cornetto, per favore!.

Yet another successful Passigi trip! Today we visited the medieval town of Orvieto and Civita di Bagnoregio which is famously known as “the dying city”. Of course we made a mandatory gelato stop thanks 😊
