Visualizing connections! 🧶📚
Our Literature Circle is diving deep into Lois Lowry’s Number the Stars. To help keep track of the interwoven lives of the Johansens and the Rosens, our students are building this hands-on character map.
Seeing the physical string connect Ellen and Annemarie really brings the strength of their friendship to life. We love using visual, interactive tools to make reading comprehension click for our learners here at Austin Micro School! ✨

STARTED SCHOOL AND IT'S NOT WORKING? 🛑

You don't have to wait until next year to fix it.

At Austin Micro School, we see this often. Bright kids who are bored, anxious, or just "checked out."

You can test a better fit in one day.

Claim a Young Leader Day Pass:
1️⃣ Your child joins our community for the day
2️⃣ They connect with a guide and engage in hands-on learning.
3️⃣ You get a Personalized Learning Profile the next day.

See the fit. Then decide.

Does your child come home from school saying they’re bored—or worse, that what they’re learning just doesn't matter?

You aren’t the only one hearing this. A recent Gallup poll found that nearly half of K–12 students feel their schoolwork doesn't positively challenge them or align with what they do best.

It’s hard to watch a bright, curious child lose their spark because they’re sitting in a classroom that isn’t built for how they learn.

At Austin Micro School, we believe school should be the place where that spark gets brighter.

We’ve moved away from the "one-size-fits-all" model to build a human-centered, hands-on community. Instead of rigid lectures, our K–8 students dive into projects and labs that connect to the real world. We focus on academic excellence and mental health, ensuring your child feels seen, challenged, and capable.

If you’re looking for a smaller, calmer environment where your child can actually lead their own learning, we’d love to meet you.

💡 Why Small-Group Learning Works

In our Elementary class, small groups mean big impact.
More interaction. More engagement. More confidence in every subject.

When students feel seen, supported, and challenged at just the right level, they thrive — not just in academics, but in life.

📍 Austin Micro School — where every child’s learning journey is personal.

🔍 Learning by Doing at Austin Micro School

At Austin Micro School, learning isn’t just about reading from a book — it’s about touching, building, exploring, and discovering. 📚✨

When students work with clocks to practice telling time ⏰ or map out continents and countries 🌍, they’re not just memorizing facts — they’re developing deep understanding through real-world application.

Why hands-on learning works:
✅ Engages multiple senses for stronger memory retention
✅ Builds problem-solving and critical thinking skills
✅ Encourages collaboration and communication
✅ Connects abstract concepts to tangible experiences

When learning is active, students own their knowledge — and that confidence carries into every subject. 💡

💬 We’d love to hear from you:
What’s a skill you learned best by doing instead of just reading about it?
