One of the biggest misconceptions about clinicals? That you have to be perfect.

You don't.

Your instructors aren't expecting perfection—they're looking for safe habits, professionalism, and a willingness to learn.

✔️ Introduce yourself to your patient.
✔️ Slow down.
✔️ Think through each step.
✔️ Communicate clearly.
✔️ Ask questions when you're unsure.

Confidence comes with experience. Focus on building good habits first, and the skills will follow.

One of the best ways to study in nursing school?
Teach it out loud.
Explain the concept like you’re teaching a patient or a classmate. If you can break it down simply, it means you actually understand it.
