One nonprofit helping another 💕

Yesterday we had the pleasure of meeting some amazing ladies who have made a positive impact in the lives of thousands of young children and families in Fairfax County over the last several decades. As we found out, unfortunately, Laurel Learning Center in Reston has had to close its doors because of funding 😔 Thankfully Alpha-Bet was able to rescue some of their furniture and it’ll be given a second life in our school!

Here's another great tool for fine motor skills and handwriting! As an occupational therapist, we LOVE to use heavy work in the hands as a warm-up to handwriting tasks. Proprioceptive input "wakes up" the hands so the intrinsics are ready for writing tasks. It is also a great strengthening and resistive coordination tool.
