Welcome to my campaign page! I look forward to earning your support and vote on November 5th!

11/07/2024

First, I want to thank each and every one of you who supported me throughout this campaign. While the outcome wasn’t what we had hoped for, I am incredibly proud of all that we accomplished together. Ten months ago, we were merely neighbors and now we are family, bonded together by our shared values, principles, selfless spirits and tenacity!

To our dedicated volunteers and donors, your generosity is humbling; whether it was knocking on doors, passing out literature, standing outside during those 45 long days of early voting, donating to the cause, sharing your expertise, etc, I am thankful! You believed in the vision we were working toward, and I’m deeply grateful for your commitment. You are the heart of any campaign, and I could not have done this without you.

To my family and friends, thank you for being my unwavering support throughout this journey. Your understanding and encouragement have been unparalleled.

To my running mates, I don’t know another group of eight individuals who could be more united, hard working and dedicated to this mission. It was an incredible privilege and honor to get to know you and your families.

Finally, to all the voters, thank you for your participation. Whether you voted for me or not, your voice is vital to shaping the future of our schools. I look forward to staying involved and working with you all to make our district the best it can be.

Although we didn’t win this time, the issues we raised during our campaign are important and need solutions. I will continue to advocate for our students, teachers, and community in whatever ways I can.

This campaign may be over, but my dedication to improving our schools will continue.

Thank you again, from the bottom of my heart.

School Board Meeting - February 27, 2024 11/01/2024

As we move into the last weekend of campaigning, I am reminded of why I got into this race in the spring. Below are my comments before the school board on February 27, 2024 (22.20-25.02). I shared my concerns as a parent and teacher in the community after being dissatisfied with the responses I had received when going through the proper school system channels. It was not easy to stand up at a board meeting and share uncomfortable ideas with leaders whose response is always to say something like "moving along," or “there’s nothing we can do here.” I stood up anyway. Shortly after this board meeting, I finally realized the only way my voice could affect change is to have a seat at the table.

I will be ready on day one to bring positive, supportive discipline and academic structures to our school system so that students learn we have the highest expectations for them – and we know they have what it takes to succeed. I have worked hard to earn every vote by listening to the citizens of Manassas, and I thank everyone who has supported me throughout my campaign and during early voting. When elected, I will speak for you and all students, parents, and teachers who express their care for our community by sharing their concerns and expecting solutions. I will never say to you, “move along,” or “there’s nothing we can do.”

We have one more Saturday to vote early this weekend at City Hall on Center Street. I’m ready to bring this election into the home stretch and finish strong! Happy Weekend, Manassas!

Happy Halloween! Hope everyone had a safe and fun-filled night! That’s quite the candy stash for a child who does not eat candy 😂.
