Sharing is an important social skill, however teaching to young children can be difficult. We often use books to help teach the concept of sharing to preschoolers. In our school we teach how sharing toys and books can be more fun because you get to play with more toys.

We teach sharing to children between the ages 3 - 6, children under 3 years may not understand the sharing skill and can also confuse them.

Sharing as a social skill takes time to develop, preschoolers will need sufficient time to understand the concept. Children are not naturally willing to share a toy which they are happily playing with. In our school we teach voluntary sharing using concepts like taking turns and book sharing.

There are a lot of benefits to using crayons! We do not expect them to color inside the lines, but rather, we use the pictures as a chance to work on vocabulary and give them something appealing to look at while they work with crayons!
