We spent the morning at an Upweller, which is one of 14 shellfish nurseries on Barnegat Bay. ReClam the Bay is a volunteer organization dedicated to repopulating the bay with its native shellfish, which are vital to keeping the bay clean. Thank you so much to Rich for coming out and teaching us all about shellfish! And thank you to Mr. Symons for continuing the lesson and getting us all fishing! What a great day of learning!

See you at the UpWeller! What even is that? We'll find out tomorrow on our field trip to ReClam the Bay's shellfish nursery in Waretown. Please wear shoes that can get wet! This is a hands-on activity so come prepared to learn through participation! Bring a bagged lunch if you plan to stay and play.

We took to the orchard today and learned about honey bees and other pollinators! We learned how honey bees pollinate the apple blossoms in the spring so that we can have delicious apples to eat in October! Thank you so much to Jack from Backyard Bees Honey for meeting us in the orchard for a fascinating time!

How about them apples? For this week's out-of-class learning experience, we're going apple and pumpkin picking at Russo's in Tabernacle. We will meet there at 11. For GPS, use Russo's Annex, 299 Flynn Rd, Tabernacle, NJ. RSVP to our Field Trip Coordinator for the official headcount.

That feeling when the zoo is almost empty except for your group! We learned about animals from all over the world, and we had an unforgettable lesson about animal eating habits and the food chain!

We had an amazing day at Daffodil Valley Homestead learning about animals and how to care for them! Thanks to our parents for leading our field trips!

On Friday we're exchanging the indoor classroom for the world outside us! We'll be meeting at 10am at Daffodil Valley Homestead for learning and fun! Please wear appropriate footwear for farm activities.
Optional: bring a bagged lunch and regroup at Manahawkin Lake Park for eating and playing after our activity ends.
