Weekly photo dump
1. Our boys first trip to Medieval Times: poor planning on my part resulted in sitting in 2 hours of traffic, arriving just before the show started, and a 10 minute meltdown from sensory overwhelm. Good thing I remembered to bring headphones 🤷🏼♀️ I don’t know about them, but this is definitely a core memory for me. Based on the number of times they have played knights this week, I’d say it is for them too
2. Sticky chicken salad: my favorite quick and easy weeknight dinner—especially for when I forget to thaw something for dinner when I leave the house and work all day. Romaine, tomatoes, cucumbers, red onion, cheddar cheese and crispy chicken (I used nuggets this time) tossed in hot honey and homemade ranch dressing
3. Seeing little friends enjoy playing in new ways makes my heart so happy. Especially when they share coffee with me 😊
4. Nothing warms my heart as a mom more than one of my boys picking a flower for me. There’s something so sweet about a gesture like that
5. When I decided to open a space just for Anchor, I knew I needed to build opportunities for inclusion into every piece of it. Giving my own kids opportunities to learn about different ways other kids communicate, learn and play was a big part of it. And of course, giving our little friends opportunities to interact with peers in a safe and less intimidating environment
6. Sometimes I’m so blown away by the pretend play that my boys come up with. Their imaginations are incredible to witness! This was a Morgan Wallen concert 😂
7. We get to see so much progress with our friends when they’re learning through natural play opportunities rather than just sitting at a table. Hearing how they apply what we do at home is proof that we’re doing this right!
8. I’m lucky to live where I get to experience the most beautiful sunrises and sunsets every day
