Thrive - to flourish, prosper, grow vigorously. A thriving student is healthy, successful and strong. Thrive Tutoring is the brainchild of Jean Marie Stein. It grew organically as a result of the lessons she learned as a high school math teacher, tutor, and mom to two students. Thrive tutoring is the mind and body approach to academic success, emotional health and physical strength. In the classro

om and in the community, Jean Marie saw that her students lacked basic study skills, organizational systems, time management capability, and coping skills to manage their stress. Middle schoolers are a bundle of emotional turmoil, 9th graders are overwhelmed with transitioning to high school, and upperclassmen are under enormous pressure to get good grades and get into college. Add sports and a social life and most students are simply overwhelmed! Our children desperately need tools to help them get a good nights sleep and make informed choices to eat healthfully to support their learning. There are no formal courses in the curriculum to teach students these missing skills and even if teachers have the knowledge, most are strapped by a demanding curriculum, leaving little time to teach students how to thrive. Thrive Tutoring's workshops teach these skills. Every students can benefit from the Thrive program - even those who will NEVER need an academic tutor

Thrive Tutoring also provides a blog to discuss current topics on teen mindfulness, nutrition, and cognition. Through our affiliate, Thrive Tutoring Academics, we also refer academic coaches who reflect our philosophy of supporting the whole student.
