Tomorrow is the first day of school East Mills. I’m excited to see everyone and ready for a great school year!

We are just about ready to start school again!

We want every student to walk into school feeling confident, comfortable, and loved this year.

Join us for our Open House this Thursday, August 20th from 5:00-7:00 to connect with your teacher, unpack your supplies, grab a fresh trim, and share a meal with us!

We can’t wait to welcome our students and families, ease those first-day jitters, and kick off a wonderful year together!

Elementary school start time is now 8:10 AM. Arriving after 8:15 will count as a tardy. Students can start arriving at school at 7:45 AM and either go to breakfast or go to the playground area.

Dear East Mills Families,

Iowa law (House File 2591) now allows 8th-grade students to take part in high school extracurricular sports and activities. We know this change raises many questions, and we want to keep you informed.

Right now, East Mills is carefully reviewing the new law to determine what it will mean for our students and our programs. Our top priorities are student safety, positive growth, and long-term success. We want to offer meaningful opportunities while making decisions that are best for the whole district.

We expect the board to approve policy 504.06, which will outline our local decisions, at the August 12th board meeting. Once that policy is finalized, we will share the details about how participation will work at East Mills.

July 8th and 9th area law enforcement agencies will conducting training at East Mills. There will be an influx of law enforcement vehicles at the school. Thank you to the East Mills School District for allowing us to use the building!
