The Hot Spring County Leadership Forum had a great final session today focusing on Agriculture and Natural Resources.

Arkansas Natural Produce kicked off our tour focusing on specialty produce.

The Ross Foundation hosted a tour of Jack Mountain explaining the forestry industry with a focus on sustainability.

Magen Allen, J A Farms Feed, showed us around the feed mill and explaining the challenges farmers are facing from a political and financial perspective.

Onyx the Porch Cow greeted us at Ausley Family Farms where we learned about the beef industry.

Sustainability, the focus on protecting the industry to create quality products for consumers while maintaining the rural lifestyle, work ethic, and perseverance were common themes throughout the day.

Thank you to all our partners for your hospitality today, to Hot Spring County Farm Bureau for sponsoring today’s session, and to UADA Hot Spring County Agriculture for hosting the session.

Thanks to Scott Sikora for arranging our day of Business & Industry. We took tours of Acme Brick, Arauco Molding, Veranda Boats and then a little driving tour of Jones Mill led by County Judge Dennis Thornton. We had a great day. And oddly enough, I now want to remodel my house and buy a new boat.
