As a culminating activity for the 8th-Grade Social Studies World War II unit, students created origami poppies in remembrance of soldiers, Holocaust victims, Japanese internment camp survivors, and family members impacted by the war. Each student dedicated their poppy by writing names, prayers, poems, or letters of remembrance before they processed to the Sacred Heart Memorial to place their poppies and pray together.
