SkillsUSA 2026 State Leadership Conference is in the books. Our students are amazing, but sometimes they still impress us. We're bringing home three state championships and a total of seventeen medals. Gold medal winners include Jackson Williamson (Malvern High School) in Customer Service and Karson White (Magnet Cove High School) in Carpentry Display from Mr. Barber's Construction class, And Elisabet Lopez (Malvern High School) in Health Occupations Professional Portfolio from Toni Dyer's Nurse Assistant class. Silver medals were won by David Gonzalez (Malvern High School) (Construction) in Carpentry and Hope Dexter (Malvern High School) (CNA) in Basic Health Care Skills. Two teams earned silver medals for each of their members. Promotional Bulletin Board included the following from Mrs. Dyers class. Malvern High School; Marke'la Hughes and James Williams, Arkadelphia High School; Daniya Harrison. In the opening and Closing Ceremony, students combined from Mr. Barber's Construction class and Brady Gray's automotive class and from three different high schools for their silver medal. Arkadelphia High School; Josiah Hart. Ouachita High School; Kaycee Nutt, Cameron Lee, and Layla Shirley. Malvern High School; Clay White, Jaylyn Jackson, Uriel Vasquez. And to finish it up, we had two bronze medal winners. In Health Occupations Professional Portfolio, Melissa Cervantes (Malvern High School) from Mrs. Dyer's Nurse Assisting class and in T-Shirt design, Ja'Leaha Ross (Malvern High School) from Mr. Barber's Construction class. Congratulations to all of these champions and the rest of champions who competed but didn't make the podium this time. We are so proud of all of you!

SkillsUSA State Leadership and Skills Conference 2026 - Champion Your Future! Every year the cream of the crop of career and technical students come from all over Arkansas to compete head to head in skilled technical and professional leadership contests. Between our center in Malvern and the Saline County Career Technical Campus in Benton, over one hundred local high school students committed, prepared, and laid their hard work on the line to be judged against the best that the state has to offer. The contests are over and the dust has settled. We'll have to wait until tomorrow to see if they had enough to earn that gold medal and stand on the top of the podium. However the judging falls, these young adults are winners and become the future workforce of America. Support Arkansas CTE! It's an investment into all of our futures.
