The University of Arkansas Division of Agriculture Cooperative Extension Service received a $2,645,425 grant to improve health care in rural Arkansas. 🩺🚜

Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders announced the 54 grant recipients at a news conference yesterday at the Arkansas Governor’s Mansion. The recipients will share $54.6 million in the latest round of funding through the federal Rural Health Transformation Program.

UADA will use the Cooperative Extension Service’s statewide presence to deliver coordinated child wellness, physical activity, research-based outreach, health literacy, and chronic disease initiatives, which are expected to reach 30,000 to 50,000 rural residents annually. 🤝❤️

As participants in the Central Arkansas-Fletcher Library Community History Seminar, they are collecting and digitizing HSC EHC historical materials. The HSC Handy Homemakers met last night at Coffee Records for a brief meeting and trivia! It was the first club outing and it was so much fun! Next month, on October 15th they are meeting at the HSC 4-H Center at 5:00 pm to sew tote bags for GoGo’s Closet! EHC focuses on education, leadership, and community service!
