FIRST RESPONDER AUTISM TRAINING
The Special Needs Program invites first responders and community partners to take part in a First Responder Autism Training led by retired Lieutenant Jimmy Donohoe and retired Fire Captain Bill Cannata.

This training will provide practical knowledge and guidance on understanding and recognizing autism, responding to individuals with autism during emergency situations, and the importance of preparedness and a thoughtful approach. The goal is to help first responders feel more confident and prepared when supporting individuals with autism.

When: November 5–6, 2026 | 9:00 AM–3:00 PM
Where: St. Regis Recreation Center
Light lunches will be provided!

The Adirondack Community Foundation’s Birth to Three Alliance has partnered with a coalition on a region-wide survey of employers about child care, and the costs they face when child care is unavailable or unaffordable for their employees.

If you are a business owner, HR director, or other leader at an employer in Clinton, Essex, Franklin, Hamilton, or Warren counties, we need you! The survey takes ten minutes and is fully anonymous. Survey data will help quantify the need and build the case for child care investment across the Adirondack region.

The survey coalition includes ACF, Estolano Advisors, Warren County Economic Development Corporation and Cornell University, with support from the Rockefeller Family Fund.
