Backpack Program

Davis, Flanders and St. Joe’s Elementary Schools have the opportunity to participate in the Citizens Advocate Backpack Program. This program is made possible through the partnership between Malone Central School and Citizens Advocate.

Every Thursday that school is in session, a bag filled with about six pounds of food, including items such as cereal, juice, canned fruit and vegetables, tuna, peanut butter, jelly, as well as macaroni and cheese will be sent home for your family. There are six different menus, which will change every week.

If you qualify for free or reduced lunch and would like to participate in the program, please sign and return this form to your child’s teacher by Monday, September 28.

Due to high demand for this program, we may not be able to serve all of our families that apply. We will be accepting the applications for this free program until all the slots are filled

Here is some exciting news!!

In an effort to ensure that our students have access to high-quality support throughout the week on school days, we have created a schedule of Flanders Help Desk among available staff.
These staff members will host live Google Meets at the scheduled times to assist students with school work and/or help them contact their teacher directly.
As we continue this process we will be adding more times after hours as well as times during the day.

FYI Parents: Busses are running late. They are just arriving to school. Please expect your children to arrive home later than expected.

As students and parents prepare to come back to Flanders I just wanted to remind everyone of some of the new safety procedures. Everyone will need to wear a mask in the building. If students forget their mask Flanders has some that can be provided. Our classrooms, hallways, and busses will be marked and set up for social distancing. All student drop-offs will be in front of the building. Only buses will unload in the back of the building. Students will not be permitted in the building until 7:20 with the official school start time of 8:00 am. Parents will not be allowed in the building to help minimize multiple exposures throughout the building. We will begin dismissal at 1:30. Flanders staff will be out front in the morning and afternoon to help students get where they need to go. For more information please visit Flanders website at http://flanders.malonecsd.org/

Good afternoon,
I would like to first welcome everyone back and remind families that starting September 21st we will begin our in-person instruction for those who choose this. Monday and Tuesday will be cohort A for those students with the last name that begins with A-LA. Thursday and Friday will be cohort B for those students with the last name that begins with LE-Z. Students will not be permitted in the building until 7:20 with the official school start time of 8:00 am. We will begin dismissal at 1:30. We ask that our remote students and families please be patient with teachers next week as we transition into our hybrid model with in-person instruction and remote instruction happening at the same time. Attention all Flanders Pre-K and Kindergarten families.

On Tuesday, September 8th there will be a drive-thru meet and greet for all (Remote and In-Person) Pre-k and Kindergarten students only. Pre-K will be from 9:00-9:30 and Kindergarten will be 9:30-10:00.

Parents are asked to drive through the Flanders parking lot loop and remain in their cars. Teachers will wave and meet their new students.
