After careful consultation with local emergency management officials and continuous monitoring of weather conditions associated with Hurricane Isaias, the District has made the decision to close all schools and district facilities on Friday, October 9, 2026. All school activities, athletic events, extracurricular programs, and after-school functions scheduled for Thursday, October 8, 2026 are still allowed.

Any activities scheduled for Friday are canceled. District officials will continue to monitor conditions closely and will work with local emergency management agencies to determine when it is safe to resume normal operations.

We currently anticipate reopening on Monday, October 12, 2026, pending weather impacts, road conditions, utility restoration, and safety assessments.

We encourage all families and employees to follow the guidance of local emergency officials, review their emergency preparedness plans, and avoid unnecessary travel during severe weather conditions. SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITY — APPLICATIONS NOW OPEN! 🎓

The Jackson County Chamber of Commerce Farm City Scholarship Committee is now accepting applications for the Ed Jowers “Future of Agriculture” Scholarship Program!

This scholarship is designed to support Jackson County students pursuing their education, with special consideration given to applicants with connections to agriculture, agribusiness, agricultural majors, and participation in FFA or 4-H. Applicants must be Jackson County residents and meet the scholarship’s academic requirements.
