"I had been on assignment at a Detroit Montessori school for two days, and shot hundreds of photos. Some were very good, but I knew I hadn't gotten THE shot. That afternoon, as we all sat on the floor in a circle listening to a story, I bowed my head. When I raised my head, this little girl leaned over to lay her head on the little boy's lap. He very gently lifted his arm to receive her. I call this photo 'The Age of Innocence."

On November 9 the lights went out at Malibu Learning Center. We lost our beautiful home and the learning center a few hours after we left on Friday morning. Thanks to all my dear friends who are helping us get back to a new normal. Thanks to my darling students and their families who have reached out to me in so many ways. Their sweet words are like big warm hugs to me. Thanks to my colleagues who are helping me rebuild my extensive library of teaching materials. Back to work mid December
