Sonder started as an idea — and now it’s real. Grateful to be building this new workshop with these two and what it’s about to become.

Filmbuilding: Sonder is our newest workshop in collaboration with Lincoln-Sudbury High School. Building on the successes of Lincoln-Sudbury’s 2024 Filmbuilding: Belonging project, Sonder is a student-initiated and student-created film project designed to challenge stereotypes, build understanding, and genuine friendships by pairing one Boston resident and one Lincoln/Sudbury resident together for two 24-hour home exchanges. Stay tuned on the outcome of these short films!

Celebrating the Filmbuilding: Bridges of Hope Workshop 🌟

Bridges of Hope brought teenagers from Vaasa, Finland and its sister cities—Bellingham (USA), Kiel (Germany), Pärnu (Estonia), and Kherson (Ukraine)—into cross-cultural filmmaking teams to co-create original short films across borders.

Meeting online while filming in their own communities, students navigated language, distance, and difference to explore what “Bridges of Hope” means in a divided world. The result was more than four powerful films—it was youth-led cultural diplomacy in action, demonstrating how sister-city partnerships can evolve from symbolic relationships into meaningful, creative exchanges that build understanding when it matters most.

Check out the full films at youtube.com/ to see the wonderful outcomes of this experience!
