On Wednesday we celebrated the incredible legacy of Nurse Elizabeth Paquette as she officially retires from 26 years at MC 🩺. We toasted the woman who has meant so much to countless students and families.

MC welcomes two new coaches to campus - Sharell Sanders will lead the Girls Varsity Basketball program and interim Boys Varsity Coach Mark Garrity will move into a permanent role. We're lucky to have them both!

We are roughly 100 days away from the 40th Annual Malden Catholic Lancers of Golf Tournament which will be held on Monday, September 21, 2026 at the exceptional Ipswich Country Club.

Like the previous 39 years we expect a sold-out field of golfers that are focused on a dual purpose that day – to win the coveted Malden Classic Cup bragging rights AND to provide much needed financial support for student programs throughout Malden Catholic!

We have a couple specialty sponsorships still available (in the $2,500 - $10,000) range for those that are looking for some exposure and recognition to go along with a great day out on the course. Pishon Gezehagn '27 is interning with The Davis Companies this summer and on day 1 she joined a woman’s program on leadership offered by Mintz. The event consisted of a one-on-one conversation with Gov. Maura Healey and Hillary Knight, captain of USA woman’s hockey team that won the gold medal in Milano - Cortina.

Hundreds of alumni, parents and MC community members have enjoyed daily smiles as they go day by day through the year with this past year’s Dogs of Malden Catholic Wall Calendar. Well…. We are doing it again! If you have a dog (or dogs) that would be awesome additions to the calendar, then please request to have this year’s version of the Malden Catholic Bandana sent to you. Once you get a good photo of your dog proudly wearing their MC bandana you can e-mail your submission in! First 99 submissions are all that can be included this year. Yesterday we celebrated the 8th graders who are continuing on their Malden Catholic journey during our inaugural Moving On Ceremony! Girls were gifted sweaters and boys the ties they will wear when Mass Attire is required. It was really lovely to see excitement and pride amongst the students and their families. Congratulations!

The Malden Catholic Dance Company raised an incredible $7,728 for the American Cancer Society through their Dancers Against Cancer Fundraiser! We presented the check to ACS Representative Ali Levine today

Congratulations MC Covenant House Club for raising over $15,000 in its inaugural year through a variety of events involving students, parents, faculty & staff, and friends in the community! Events included a car wash, a volleyball tournament, a bake sale, the sale of ice-cream bon-bons through courtesy of Phil and Erica Rotondo, a student dress down day, a Sleep Out, a parents comedy night, and an Ice Cream Social, sponsored by Sharon and Paul Cacciola, owners of Socs.

Student officers, seniors Scott Gage, Lucas Wang, Joelle AlMadani, Yasmin Saroufim, and Michaela Marchant worked with moderator, Brother Tom Puccio for the successful year. On May 27th, Ms. Amy Leco, Manager of Key Relationships for Covenant House International, and liaison for Covenant House, Boston, visited Malden Catholic to receive the Club’s check for $14,100.

At a ceremony that day Ms. Leco congratulated the MC Covenant House Club for their successes in fundraising, spoke about the needs of homeless youth, and thanked the Malden Catholic community for their support. She looks forward to a continued relationship with our Club.
